Artist/Rider Profile, @_sgcreative // meet Stacey, the artist behind the custom painted Lanesplitter we are currently raffling for charity. (Link in bio for tickets) Hey everyone, my name is Stacey and I’m a rider out here in Calgary, Alberta. I’m a local artist and work with many mediums from hand engraving, to leather burning, painting, and drawing the list can go on and on. I started off wood burning in the beginning, then after getting home from a bike trip I was looki...ng at my new (well new to me), gently worn leather boots and then without question, I had my wood burning tools out on the table. Not really knowing what the outcome would be I just started burning and experimenting with the leather. This was the moment I realized the possibilities of what my canvases could be.Since then I’ve been burning on leather boots, saddlebags, leather seats, leather patches, leather bags, leather cozies, and wallets. This lead me to explore other materials and tools that I could use to detail. Which today has led me to hand engraving. Hand engraving is my current passion. It’s the small intimate details, for me, it’s what takes a piece from looking great to making something look spectacular, polished and unique. That is what I enjoy the most. The small details make the biggest impact. My books are currently open, and I can be contacted through email [email protected] See more

Human’s best friends - dogs and choppers. Did you know that Gus helps his dad build bikes? He sniffs out parts as they arrive, putting his stamp of approval on everything before it gets built/assembled. We have made a tough decision and wanted to update you on the status of the 2021 Roundup. We are postponing it, again. And it sucks. Here’s why: Community & Togetherness. The Roundup is a community event, and it’s very intent is to bring the women’s moto community in Western Canada together. With current restrictions and so many unknowns, we can’t in good faith continue to offer a community event without understanding what it will look like. Imagine not being able to hug you...r new friends or give them a high five. Imagine the feeling of being policed with physical distancing and PPE when you are supposed to let loose, celebrate, meet new friends and enjoy every moment. Imagine being restricted to certain areas, eating on a schedule and not being able to connect with others. This type of environment would take so much away from the event’s intent, and we just don’t have the heart to drive forward in these circumstances. Our event is not for profit. We aren’t in this to make money. We carefully crafted our ticket prices to cover the venue, insurance, entertainment, long-table dinner and overheads like marketing and advertising. Not knowing what we could offer if we were permitted to hold our event means we could potentially be charging too much for tickets, and that is not something we want to or are comfortable doing. We believe in doing it right. We take this event and the trust you have instilled in us to host this event very seriously. And we want to do it right. We want to offer Western Canada’s first women’s moto rodeo, and we want it to be a banging good time. We want adequate time to cross all the t’s and dot all the i’s, and in 2021, we find ourselves in a position where we don’t feel we can do it right, even if restrictions change over the next month or two. Next steps. All tickets will be refunded. Ticket holders please check your email for instructions and next steps. The Rebelle Roundup 2022. Yes, we are planning on hosting the event next year at the Last Chance Saloon in Wayne AB. The tentative date is June 24-26 2022, but is subject to change at this time while we work to firm up the details. See more

It’s contest time! To celebrate #iwd2021 we have teamed up with an amazing creator @sundayrebellion for a rad giveaway. Our west coast adventure was spectacular, filled with perfect weather, whales, beaches, twisty roads and amazing #backcountrygourmet until it wasn’t. Last Saturday, around 5pm @kriprit and I were making our way back to the Port Renfrew area from the Northern Gulf Islands on the Pacific Marine Road. We were only 5-6kms away from our destination. This road is stunning and gnarly, no painted lines, no shoulders, blind corners and yield to oncoming traffic river crossings, ...we opted to ride the outside of the lane around the curves. Coming around a blind, left hand corner a pickup truck was illegally passing a camper. The truck accelerated towards us, rather than braking a sound I will never forget. I launched to the right, and so did @kriprit to avoid hitting me from behind, and the next thing I knew she was on her side skidding out in front of me at the exact moment the truck passed me on the left. The driver fled the scene. @kriprit was on her feet in seconds, her bike in the ditch, smashed up and not rideable. A number of witnesses stopped to help us. Locals took our gear and @kriprit hopped on the back of my bike, where they led us to the local fire hall for support there is zero cell service in this area, for 1.5 hrs in either direction. The local community took us in, a random bought us a pizza and we camped next to the fire hall for the night. We cried, laughed, and went through every possible what if scenario, where we came to the firm conclusion that the only reason we were standing was that we were riding motorcycles. A vehicle could not have avoided a head-on collision on this beautifully gnarly back road. I want to remind everyone that long-distance adventures require a team of riders that have absolute trust and confidence in one and other. So much could have gone differently in this situation if either of us had made different decisions in that split second. To @kriprit, you are a fucking warrior. You are fucking fierce. You are a fucking unicorn. On Sunday, in true backpack fashion, we made our way back to the mainland and began the journey home together, sans one bike, but full of gratitude and gratefulness. #thelmaandlouise See more
