During this nasty Pandemic, I have been swamped with work! It would appear to me, that most, if not all of the regular places people go to for computer work, are closed up! This explains why I a getting so much business.... I am not complaining! I love my work, and continue to provide excellent customer service ad VERY reasonable prices during these times of quarantine. I almost always charge a flat rate, so that my clients do not have to pay fo the endless extra hours I wil...l often spend, meticulously making sure that everything, including things I did not mention I would fix, I go ahead and fic them. The client, well, doesnt end up having to pay for this extra care, and this is just fine by me..... You see my philosophy is simple. NEVER rip people off, and ALWAYS give a little extra. It goes a LONG WAY .... I enjoy a great reputation at very little cost to me, and at zero cost to my clients. DB. reBOOT.PCTech

CLEANING DRIED UP OLD INKJET PRINTERS & BRING THEM BACK TO LIFE! NO MORE THROWING AWAY; NO MORE BUYING YET ANOTHER NEW ONE! 6:02 AM 2/13/2020 How to CLEAN and refurbish your very old, dried up inkjet printer!... If you are amoung the thousands of folks who paid a lovey 300$ (US) for a printer that required expensive cartridges of ink; so, nobody was ever allowed to use it BUT you.... AND... you told yourself, many times over: "I will never use this printer for anything but what I really need to have printed!" Over the years, none of that held true did it? None of those frugal promises you made to yourself on keeping your new, sacred inkjet printer safe and economical to use let alone HAVE in ones common accumulation of well needed computer accessories. Now, it seems, oh so many years have passed as that sacred old inkjet printer has sat, with near empty cartridges, but because only one of them has ink filled in it, it will not print unless ALL cartridges have ink in them.... A frustrating and expensive keepsake, as it just just sits there. Year after year, drying out like a prune in July. At this point most of us would be thinking of replacing the old relic; of buying a new printer & finally, by getting rid of that dust covered, dried up old prune of a thing, and just getting a brand new, shiny, working printer! Even a "new to you" formerly used one that is in perfectly good, running condition will suffice. That big question is: Should I, can I justify spending 200$ on a new printer, and probably another set f ink cartridges as well. I have decided to share some pretty cool information on how YOU, yes YOU can save yourself the trouble of having to buy a NEW printer; if you follow the tips i will be offering you; properly and with confidence, in the next video here I am posting, then you will be able to SAVE that dried up old inkjet printer and bring it back to glory. Just like new! Another great idea from reBOOT.PCTech. Designed to refurbish, reuse, and recycle! Here is "How to clean up a dried up old inkjet printer with a few, very inexpensive, somewhat common household items and a dose of patience! VIDEO COMING SOON, watch this space folks! Such a wintery, snowy February already! This time of the year work slows down for me. Getting out and about, around, is difficult with all the messy, icy roads and sidewalks. Still available though! I had a couple of fantastic experiences doing work for people at the end of december! A father with his little kid son; must have been oh, about 8 or 9 i guess. His father had inherited a really nice laptop from work that he no longer was involved with, and was able to keep the la...ptop, but had long forgotten the password. The laptop was in brand new condition because it had not been used much at all. So the father brought it to me to get it opened and running. A day later they came to pick it up and knowing by then, the father was going to give it to his boy, i knelt down to his level and told the little guy that he had a really nice laptop and to be very careful with it, to always keep drinks far enough away not to spill on it and etc. he was so happy to get it. it was a wonderful experience! A warm story for a cold season :) I can help YOU too!! I always limit myself to one client at a time; that way i can focus, and deliver on time, and i can take the opportunity to give as much helpful information as possible. reBOOT

WOW! I have had 5 customers in a row over the past 2 weeks. This is more than the usual. Each one, nicer than the last. There was a fellow who came in a few days ago, with a laptop & wow, that was one nice machine too. Latitude E7470, touch screen very well made physically, no seams, no marks on it, like it was brand new. He had it for a few years at least, with Win 7 as the native OS on it, so.... at least 6 years old. Lost password, had become a brick to the client. So he ...went to one of the common, big box retail places to get it looked at. They spent about 20 minutes telling my client how they would crack the password, or were going to starve the PC of power until the password would become lost data, then they would upgrade the win OS to a 10, and do some custom tweaking so it would be suitable for a young person. Estimate was 375$, plus about 7 to 10 days for delivery. He brought it to me, and overnight he was able to pick it up the next day. Brand new windows, tweaked for the user, polished, and offered him all the correct software drivers on a disc, with help files etc. 150$ I compete with a multi-million dollar, class "A" rip-off conglomerate hahaha. ALWAYS consider getting more than one quote. He saved over 200 bucks coming to my service. I know I do a better result than THEY ever do. Theyre salesmen in those places now; all the techs are gone. Nobody really needs them with the new laptops made like cell phones there is nothing to service but be a glorified human anti-virus machine. I keep it going though. I think there will be an even larger demand down the road. Laptops are turning into something that folks never thought of them becoming. Disposable. The compu-tech who lost his job..... to a computer!! HA!

I KNOW this video is very poor quality. However, it still shows what I can accomplish in a 10 year old Dell laptop. I can now load a 64bit Windows in about 9 seconds....

Greetings friends, I have had one heck of a busy, working summer. I have concentrated a lot of my time providing laptops to those who need them, and in doing so, have learned a great deal about older laptops that most people do not talk about. These new laptops are pressed together like cell phones now, and they have become basically impossible to repair, and even if they can be, they arent user friendly nor worth repairing, as it costs a lot to fix them, almost as close to ...the cost of getting one new. In the future, I think there will be a larger market for older, more robust, rebuilt laptops, just like there became a market for those rather ugly 70s cars which are now sought after .... So will be the older laptop. In my view, the older machines are more upgradable. more user friendly and serviceable. Also they were built more ruggedly. As as soon as one major thing fails on the new ones, they get thrown out because they are not worth repairing. Thats how bad new laptops are. I plan to compete with them doing what i do best; bring back the older, better laptops, with newer guts inside of them,. New keyboards, batteries and hard drives. New software and extra memory are just a part. We are here if you need us to do what can be done to an older laptop. IF YOU have one of these, do NOT toss it out, rethink your move. All for now, enjoy the photos and video clip, Denny, reboot.

Purchase Opportunity, SOLD! very reasonable price for affordability! Hey everyone. I happen to have a really cute, immaculate ASUS Netbook and I am selling it. When I bot this, it needed parts and upgrading. I gave it dbl the memory, a new os, I also replaced the hard drive as it was too small ad really slow. I found a better power adapter fr it as well. It ended up costing me quite a bit of money. At the rpce, I am just breaking even. No profit required though; I want t to g...o to a good home, where someone who couldnt afford one, now can. Heres the info: Compare to most outlets asking over $275 for one of these! Crazy, and they get it too, I assume, or wouldnt be listing them at that price. I do not need it anymore. I have a new refurbishing project I am now dedicated to. This one is time to find a new owner. Asus Eee PC 1005PE 10.1" Netbook 250GB WebCam WiFi Windows xp, will upgrade for free to 7, ot 8 - White. It is very easily upgradable, to an SSD, etc. I have included a couple of links to give you an idea of what they are going for price wise. This one is is in immaculate shape. Extended life battery included. (some say 4 hrs, some say even 7; I havent tested it) I know that battery is worth 185$ new though, so it must be a good one!). Comes with Retail version of Office on it, full program, and two browsers. Internet ready, wifi ready, bluetooth, has all the little goodies. Runs email, youtube etc, perfectly. Ideal for anyone in need of something compact. Also great for a young kid starting out. Its a good teaching device too. Has all the requirements you need. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-10-Inch-Netbook-Processor-S// https://www.goeducation.co.uk/ASU/nbk-asu-eee1000h-xphw.htm Contact Dennis. Still waiting for those two laptop donations i was offered a MONTH AGO!! oh well, I have done a fantastic job with my own acquisition of an older Lenovo Thinkpad. In its day it was the Cadillac of laptops. This machine is almost 10 years old, yet it has fingerprint reader stuff on it, extended wifi where the laptop can become a hotspot for other computers, and now I have a SSD in it, VERY quite, no moving parts and the speed is 5 times faster, LITERALLY than it was, and it wa...s already quick enough. It has a dual core 2.40ghz cpu. w 4 gigs ram. Sounds a bit lean yes? It runs like 5ghz machine with 32 gigs of ram, i am NOT kidding, Im very excited with what I have ended up with as my own personal laptop. It was free, but the various few parts I have purchased were a good deal. I have to buy a used frontal surround and perhaps a new keyboard in the future, but this is not pressing. I replaced the CD RW cartridge and it works like brand new, because it IS!! ahaha...... Very pleased. reBOOT

Ha! Will be refurbishing two laptops this weekend for both my mom and my aunt. I have setup my own recycled ThinkPad laptop with a new Hard Drive and customized it completely as a loaner to my mom. When I get it back, I simply swap out the Hard Drive with my own and the ThinkPad will be back to completely being setup for me. EASY! Looking forward to helping family as well. I save them a fortune in computer calls and repairs and am proud to say that. Plus, I know much they appreciate it and of course, that makes it totally worth while. So, that means I will potentially have FOUR laptops all at once, on the go. I cannot complain! Cheers, Denny, reBOOT.PCTech

Reboot.pctech 05.03.2020

Looking forward to TWO donated recycle-able laptops over the next few days. The owner is simply cleaning off her personal stuff atm, then she will be connecting with me. Thanks to everyone who chooses to think of reBOOT when they decide to get a new machine, and want to do something constructive with the old one! We can always find someone who needs it, indeed. The work spent on getting them back in shape is always, always worth it. I even have one yng fellow waiting for a recycler this week, so it appears he will get one because of a kind lady who thought to recycle, rather than dispose. I couldnt agree more with her decision! Cheers, Denny, reBOOT.PCTech

Reboot.pctech 03.03.2020

My recycling efforts in Ottawa, Ontario have been boosted in the past week and I am getting excellent results. I want to expand this area in reBOOTs work, as it is very regarding for me, and provides computers for so many people who otherwise could not afford even a used computer. Sometimes I can even give these away. I certainly am not in this for a profit! I just love keeping busy, and the gratitude I get from people who get a computer from me, is priceless, and certainly makes it ALL worth while. Denny, reBOOT.PCTech

Reboot.pctech 26.02.2020

I am a computer recycler. I am a technician who does repairs and will reduce my rates for these repairs for low and fixed income folks. I already make NO living at this job. I do it because I get a kick out of the gratitude and happy faces and responses I get from folks who have come to me for sometimes, extensive work, and are handed and VERY low, affordable bill, or, depending on their situation financially, for no charge. All it costs me is my hours and hours of labour.

Welcome to reBOOT.PCTechs "work-in-progress" page on FaceBook. Here we will be able to showcase ALL of the work, charity, employment, jobs etc that we get involved in. Charity is going to be represented by 20% of the work that we do. That will be the lowest percentage. We may raise the bar up to as much as 50% at times, depending on the charity that needs our expertise. We intend to give basic lessons for those of us who are still new to computing. We have a 10 day 10 hr co...urse that was written about 4 years ago and it still is not outdated, so reBOOT will be using that as a free offering here, on this page. It will be interactive and members alike will be able to take the course right here, right off of this page. This page will feature a lot of things like that. So, thanks for taking a gander, and we here at reBOOT.PCTech hope to fill the niche of repairing slightly older (5 to 10 yrs) laptops and desktops, to make it value-wise, so that more money is not spent on the repair than what the computer would sell for in working order. This is what you end up in when you take an older computer to a big box store, you end up paying for more than the computer is worth, and then get talked into spending 1300$ for a new one. We can fix that older machine at a small fraction of that price, and give you another 5 years of use out of it, keeping you from having to spend that 1300$! Be well. reBOOT.PCTech.
