I banked on 2.5 days removing a few smaller hives - instead we spent 2 full days removing one of the biggest colonies weve ever encountered! We have a combined total of 52.5 hours in this monster - and that doesnt include any of the preparation time or clean up at home or the setting up of these bees in their new home on the farm! I sometimes forget just how many hours go into cutouts behind the scenes! We were extremely fortunate to work with property owners who understan...d the important of honeybees as well as all of the work that is involved in this type of work! Endeavours like this are not cheap! The days are long, the work is labour intensive and HOT! Oh - and the multiple stings her day arent enjoyable We will be returning to this location in a couple of days to ensure there arent any stragglers trying to move in and once that is confirmed - our part of this job will be done! 120 year old church Lath and plaster Multiple well established honeybee colonies 10s of thousands of honeybees 4 people crazy enough to tackle it ... . . Day 1 saw us put in over 30 combined hours of labour, endure multiple bee stings each, have some laughs and totally demolish a section of this church wall! Tomorrow, we move down the wall and into the next colony! Would you tackle a job like this? Would you know where to start? There is a reason it is so hard to find bee keepers willing to take on such a big project! Its not easy! The bees are trying to get going but this cold, wet weather is not helping them! We have made up about 30 nucs so far but could use some sunshine and heat to get them going good and strong! Do you have dandelions in your yard? How about crab apple trees? If you do, check them for honeybees! We would love to see your pictures!

Craig installed a small nuc at Heritage Community Christian School today! The kindergarten class will get to watch these bees flourish for the remainder of the school year!
