Heading out to find the perfect Christmas tree is a cherished tradition for many Alberta families. You can cut your own tree on select areas of Crown land with a permit. Helpful tips: You may cut up to 3 Christmas trees on a single permit Keep your permit with you at all times. Fill in the back after you cut your tree(s).... Cell phone service may be limited or unavailable in some areas. Dress for the weather and tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back. Check the online map for designated trails and approved roads to use. Road conditions can vary. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended. For permit, map and tree cutting rule info, visit https://www.alberta.ca/christmas-tree-cutting.aspx
