Did you know that Sadie Lampard was Alberta’s first female practising Optometrist? When her husband Jim joined the army and set off for the war Sadie went back into practise as the first female optometrist in Alberta, subject to her passing her exams, which when she sat the exam the examiner said it was the best answers they had ever seen. With the increase in Covid numbers in the city and province, and the new restrictions announced today, we just to make a friendly reminder that we require all patients to wear a mask while in the office, please call ahead to book an appointment for all services, including exams, picking up of glasses and contact lenses, picking out new glasses, any adjustments to your eyeglasses, ordering contacts, and picking up drops. Well it has been just over two months since we opened and we have enjoyed seeing all of our patients, with things getting busier we just want to remind our patients all the protocols that we have to follow. All of these protocols are to keep you our patients safe and we are following direction from Alberta Health Services and our professional associations. Please book an appointment for all your eyecare needs, sanitize before coming in, please wear a mask into the office, we do need to get close to you for exams and fitting of glasses, please do not touch the frames without assistance ( everything touched needs to be cleaned), please come to the office by yourself as we dont have a lot of space for extra people to wait. We thank you for your understanding with this new normal.

So its been a month since the world changed and a lot more of us and our kids are spending a lot more time on devices, with spending more time on these devices you may notice that your eyes are feeling tired, dry and blurry. We have to make sure that we are following the 20/20/20 rule, every 20 minutes, look away at something at 20 feet for 20 seconds.
