Red Deer Hypnosis 28.01.2021

Oh my goodness! Its almost the middle of the month. I have been MIA on this page so I thought I'd pop in. I have approached this new year differently than most. Instead of hitting the ground running, I slowed down. Taking time to rest and do some self care. I am a go go go kinda gal and slowing things down was a challenge but I am so grateful I did. I'm feeling rejuvenated and like I've had a reset. :) I wanted to share a quote from my daughter. This is a powerful reminder that we can choose how we show up in our lives, what choices we make and who we want to be. Often, it seems impossible to change certain parts of our identity but in reality we always have the opportunity to choose to be different.

This is why I created my 3 session packages that cater to different needs, so that you can achieve desired changes and make it stick! This creates a commitment from the client and myself that we are giving the process time to deliver results instead of giving up too soon and walking away from the progress that was already made.

I love this image. Do you ever feel like reaching your goal is an impossible feat? Often, we take an all or nothing approach when trying to make a change. We expect to reach the desired result immediately and if it doesn't happen we give up. We are so focused on the end result, we forget that taking small steps is how we will get there. We undermine the small steps we have taken and only see that we haven't reached the final result. We then assume that we have failed and give up. Practicing patience with yourself and celebrating those small steps makes the process easier and you may find that you end up achieving more of your goals this way. What small steps have you made towards a current goal? Recognize and celebrate them. You are one step closer to that end result.

The result of trauma can show up in very unexpected ways. Emotional eating, phobias and unhealthy relationships are just a few examples. When a person chooses to heal past trauma they will often see unwanted habits and unhealthy patterns change. By healing the trauma you are getting to the root cause of those unwanted behaviors. The unwanted behavior is simply a symptom of the root cause. This is the type of healing we do with Root Cause Therapy and it always an honor to move through that journey with clients that are choosing to make a change.

Often my clients hold onto difficult emotions/memories. They believe if they forgive they will be letting a person that did them wrong or an unjust situation get off the hook. It's important to reframe what forgiveness means. Forgiveness isn't about the person that did you wrong or that unjust situation. Forgiveness has everything to do with you and I think this statement defines it perfectly.

Hypnosis is very effective for working with the subconscious mind. However, I believe that having the subconscious and conscious mind work together to reach a goal produces the best result. I often give my clients tools to use in their daily life that support the subconscious shifts we are creating. Some of these conscious tools could be affirmations, journaling, thought rewiring exercises and even breath awareness. I feel there isn't that "one thing" to fix it all but instead its a mixture of the right things that gets true and lasting results. This is for all those worst case scenario thinkers. Every time you imagine the worst happening your subconscious believes it is reality. If someone is afraid to fly and imagines a plane crash the SC responds by recording the imagined event as proof that flying should be avoided at all costs. As a result, the persons phobia worsens. On the other hand, an athlete imagines reaching their perfect time or doing the perfect shot over and over and the SC response is that the goal has been reached many times before the athlete is then able to physically duplicate the imagined outcome in real time just like they did in their mind. What subconscious realities have you been imagining?

Fall is my favorite season because you can see rapid change happening in nature. I find the transformation exciting and beautiful. By updating existing models of thought and limiting beliefs we can also create rapid change through hypnosis. Just like trees shed their leaves client shed old habits, beliefs and thought patterns.
