As we approach Remembrance Day, we want to keep the memory of those who served alive. We know this year has been very different, and want to offer our amazing production of Air Raids and Siren Songs for you to enjoy. We are kindly asking for a suggested donation of $20 or whatever you can to https://woundedwarriors.ca as a tribute to those soldiers. Invite your family and friends to join our page so they can enjoy the show as well. More information on how to donate will follow. The link will be posted on Wednesday, November 11 and be available through Saturday, November 14, 2020.

Red Deer Players Society would like to introduce our new Artistic Director. Ash Mercia is an actor, improviser, writer, and director. She is also a teacher. After discovering the secret to making a (currently financially needed) regular job and an acting career coexist, she balances on the perpetual tightrope of life. She has toured a six month show in Italy (Teatrino); then she jumped straight into more TYA theatre, performing with the last ever Butt Ugly tour. Pre-COVID, s...he performed regularly with her troupe Bull Skit where she enjoyed creating her own shows; her last performance was a full-length one-woman show where she played over 35 different characters! Ash has a Bachelor of Education (UofA), a Theatre Performance Studies Diploma (RDC), and is continuously and constantly taking workshops to keep her skills sharp (currently enrolled in the conservatory program with Second City, TO). She enjoys watching bees, baking, and biking through the badlands. See more

Notes from the Chair Our Annual General Meeting is once again upon us. This past year certainly has been an interesting one for the Board. As a mainly novice board, we have had our challenges. The learning curve was/is a steep one. I have learned a lot. I have learned that a board of directors, albeit important, is not the most important thing in a volunteer organization. The most important part is you. Without the various highly talented individuals who are willing to give... of their time, RDP cannot function. We need you and there is room for you. We need your ideas, your energy and your time. For some, it may be that you can only spare the time to attend the AGM to provide support. This is good. We need you for this. For others, perhaps there is willingness to give a little more. Have you ever considered sitting on a board? Don't feel qualified? Well, if you have ever leaned over to your neighbor and whispered something to the effect, "Why are they doing it that way? I would do it differently", then I have news for you, you may be qualified to sit on our board. We need you and your ideas, especially now. So why not attend the AGM and, when the call comes, put up your hand. It doesn't hurt, really it doesn't. Who knows, you may end up learning a thing or two and have a bit of fun! Did I say we need you? See you at the AGM!! Come meet some new people and say hello to old friends while maintaining physical distancing! Masks encouraged. September 21, 2020 from 7:00-10:00 pm Location: Sunnybrook United Church 12 Stanton St RD **Please RSVP via [email protected] If you haven't volunteered... in the 2019-2020 year please fill out a membership form on the webpage and bring/send in the $10.00 fee. Address is PO Box 28008 Highland Green T4N 7C2. **Only members 18 and older can vote.
