As we begin to sort out details for the launch party... which is coming up quickly. Here's a article that came out this morning. Thanks Josh. I hope that this will spur some donations and some folks to participate.

We're pulling together a group of 52 people to raise 52 thousand in 52 weeks with the help of The Red Deer and District Community Foundation. We'll have four teams of 13 people - hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. All hands on deck! One might say we're looking for four great queens to lead (three more actually). The queen of hearts has appeared. If you'd like to be involved please reach out to me. Funds will held with the Red Deer and District Community Foundation and w...ill go to help build a community centre for the LGBTQ2S+ community and various programs that serve the well-being of the community. The fund will there for a community group that decides they want to take on such as project. Our efforts here are not to build the centre but to put funds away for the right group and the right time. Through the Foundation however we will be offering annual grants to agencies working to improve the quality of life for LBGTQ2S+ folks. The fledging committee has decided that our official launch party is November 27th. Watch for our Facebook page, Instagram and Twitter accounts. This March charitable organizations will be able to apply for program funding. We're building a strong foundation not just a card house. 2021 will be 52 years since the Stonewall Riots which for many mark the beginning of the movement for human rights for LGBTQ2S+ citizens.
