Compassion Is like when the clouds part for the sun, bringing beauty to the entire view, while sharing the same sky I have been struggling for a while with feeling like I had to pick a side ... Since the onslaught of the virus, we have all been faced with the same information from all the sides, from all the countries, from all the opinions and click-bait headlines and from all the political views - and by now, most have already picked their side I dont have a side I dont want to pick a side I dont want to be reckless I dont want to live in fear I dont want to harm my loved ones I dont want to live in a bubble I dont want anymore people to die I dont want anymore jobs to be lost I dont have all the answers And either do any of you I truly believe none of us want any of these things I believe we have all struggled with our own moral compasses, because with this virus, we can all admit, no one, not even science has proven anything to the 100%. The information is plenty and the stories are vast and the opinions are overwhelming, yet somewhere, among the fear and lies and the distractions, we are left to ourselves to find the truth. So we do what we do as humans, we look for answers and we look for answers that make us feel good and what makes us feel validated and what aligns to what we want to believe and ultimately what will keep us safe. And with that, comes the natural tendencies to then cast judgement on anyone whos beliefs dont align with your own. Ive seen it on Facebook, Ive witnessed it among family and friends and strangers alike. The default human nature. And that, I believe, is where we are failing right now Its that one simple act of existing with compassion If you have compassion, there is no room for judgment If you have compassion, there is no room for selfishness If you have compassion you can see all sides of a story If you have compassion you can discern the bigger picture This may not be the answer to end Covid-19, but it may help curb the virus attacking our hearts and minds and social media during this physical attack we are all facing. ~ #compassion See more
