A story of two barrels: These barrels were dug out of the basement of our cider makers childhood home. They were in pretty rough shape when we dusted them off and we have no idea how old they are. We contacted @nwfoeders to see if he could refurbish them. He pulled them apart, cleaned them, sanded them back, waxed them and put them back together. He did a great job! Judging by the smell of the interior, they may have held whiskey before. But, we don't really know.... What we do know is we'll fill them with cider and see what happens. Just in time for Halloween. On Friday, October 30, as part of our next cider launch, we will have 36 beautiful apple pies for sale courtesy of our good friend @chefpendergast. Robert says his pies are very "apple forward." They are700 grams of comfort infused with flavours of wildflower honey, salted butter, cider, and acidity. There will be some bottles of caramel sauceavailable to compliment the pies and maybe a slice or two could be had at the bar.... Each pie is $17. Yesterday we had the luck to visit Mikita Farms while they harvested their 2020 Cranberries. We are pleased to use them as the source for the Cranberry in our Brackley 8% Cider. The bog is located just outside of St. Peter's Bay and offers on-site fresh Cranberry sales & welcomes visitors to watch the splendor of the harvest.
