Work by Frans Hals and Peter Paul Rubens, influential Dutch Renaissance painters whose handling of the figure and mastery of composition has had a strong affect on my figurative work. These two artists were born only five years apart: Hals in 1582, and Rubens in 1577. Banquet of the Officers of the St. Hadrian Civic Guard Company was created by Frans Hals in 1627. The Feast of Acheloüs was created by Peter Paul Rubens in 1615. This is the camera system I used to capture the Trailer Park Party, now on view at #paulkuhngallery in Calgary. The camera is a 4x 5 Sinar with sliding Phase One digital back on a heavy series 5 Gitzo tripod. The sliding back allows for image stitching and production of ultra high resolution images.
