We have been overwhelmed with request for veggie seedlings this weekend! Our first batch brought in today was picked through and our selection early Saturday is reasonable though limited. Reds WILL RESTOCK a full suite of available nursery-fresh veggies and herbs tomorrow morning. For best selection, come around noon on Sat May 16. Due to demand, we will not reserve any veggie seedlings this weekend. All purchases subject to availability and are first come, first served. Happy planting!

Good morning! Reds' Long Weekend Hours: Good Friday: 8-4 Saturday: 8-5 Sunday: Closed... Monday: 7-5 *and the picture is Hellbores 'Ice & Roses'. How pretty is that? And hardy too, blooming steadily since early April despite the cold temperatures!

Sunday April 14 is forecast 1 degree and rainy. What a change from Saturday. Not exactly gardening weather. We're taking a rain-day, closing shop and will be back at it 7am Monday the 15th! Stay warm.

What a difference a week makes. Notice the fuller leaves, longer branching and fresh new growth from the middle of the plant. Grow Willy Grow!

Picture this morning of the several unique varieties of geraniums growing in our greenhouse. Like the peonies mentioned in an earlier post, we grow what's hard to find! Even without the bursts of blooms, the difference in leaf-types is stunning.

Just a few of the beautiful varieties of peonies we have hand-picked to grow in our greenhouse this year. Chosen for their unique growth habit, colour, and/or flower structure, these are plants unlikely to be found at any other garden centre around; plants are limited! Of course, we like them all.. do you have a favourite??

This is a geranium 'Wilhelm Langguth'. This particular variety is noted for its pretty variegated leaves and showy bright red flowers. The plant in the picture was potted here at Reds last Thursday March 14. Let's call him Willy- distinguished by the maple leaf sticker on the pot. Be sure to check in on Willy every couple days to watch his growth and evolution!

This Saturday August 18!

Both were planted at the same time in good soil. They have received the same amount of sunlight and water. The difference is the tomato plant on the right has been fertilized regularly with off-the-shelf fertilizer. What a difference!! A friendly reminder: don't forget to fertilize. The results speak for themselves.
