Just a quick FYI that I will be out of the salon this coming Thursday and Friday (April 28-29) I will return any messages on Monday May 2nd!

Remember way back in 2020, I had an amazing opportunity to work on a show with puppies? (no, I did not do hair for the pups!) Well, here is the trailer! It releases on March 31! While I think you should all watch it, it’s definitely geared to youth! https://youtu.be/mpQmOfaJvKU

I keep hearing this and is hairdressers get asked for bayleeooge, boylee-ahhge, and every pronunciation in between! We don’t care how you pronounce it. What we care about is why you’re asking for it. Balayage is a technique, not a final result! When you ask specifically for it, you are asking for a specific application, and the results will vary. Most of the time, this is in reference to blonde hair, but can be done with any colour! Balayage is a hand painting technique, ...placing colour or lightener where it needs to be, for a flattering result! Placement is different on everyone! Communication is hard for everyone. The best thing to do is show us a picture of an inspirational colour or style and we will decide on the best way to get you that result! Not every blonde is a balayage, nor do they need to be! Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk! See more

I had to post about it sigh. Yet another variant and it likely won’t be the last. (I spelled it wrong on purpose!) Some of you are concerned, and that is understandable. I wanted to update you all to say that nothing has changed in my salon. Services are still one on one, cleaning protocols are the same, masks are still mandatory.... If you’re concerned, I’m happy to help you find a time first thing in the morning where you’re the first one in. We are all working through this together! (still) See more

Merry Christmas to you all!! Thank you all for such an amazing year! You are always inspiring me with your perseverance and loyalty! We are all uncertain (again) about next year, but I look forward to moving forward, together!... Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy Happy New Year! See more

Only 3 more days to order!

Supply shipping update! If you have specially ordered something from me in the last week, there’s a chance it won’t be here until the road situation is sorted throughout the province. Update from my sales rep regarding the Calgary warehouse:... Couriers have not been picking up any orders enroute to BC all week and won’t until we get a major route reopened. If you have something on order, I will update you as I can. The other suppliers I rely on are Vancouver based and are ok for now! Until then, I feel that I am pretty well stocked for the season!

I know it’s early, but Purdy’s Fundraising has started! A number of my client’s order from this fundraiser every year, so I’m putting the link here for anyone else who is interested as well! The Parkland Band students are planning to attend the Con Brio Music Festival in Whistler in the spring. The boys are very excited to be able to travel again, and appreciate your support!... https://fundraising.purdys.com/508922-87666

To my friends, family, and clients who have served - thank you. Let’s all take some time this week to remember why we are a free a country and reflect on John 15:13 - Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" When men went to war, I think of kids not much older than mine, who fought and lost their friends so others could be free. As a mother, I cannot imagine. While I have been blessed to never have been on the front lines, I can give ...a heartfelt thank you, educate my kids on the importance of respecting our veterans and taking the time to attend a ceremony. The salon will be closed this coming Wednesday in honour of all who have served.

Covid is still the hottest topic for discussion! Understandably too! I am answering a lot of the same questions, so I thought I would pop on here to fill you in - because it’s Friday night, sooooo.... BC has extended the state of emergency in the province until October 13th, but this has been extended every month since March, so I can’t imagine it being lifted anytime soon. Look it up in a few days, I betcha it will be extended again ... While we are under a state of emergency, there are precautions that I have to uphold in my salon - which is also in my home! WorkSafe BC has listed protocols that I have also chosen to uphold. One of those is wearing a mask when we can’t distance, so basically, your whole appointment. I have chosen to take temperatures upon entry into my home. I have a Covid-19 safety plan posted in the salon as well as your confirmation email! (please read it) Should I be inspected and it’s proven that I am not upholding safety protocols, I risk a large fine and possible loss of business license. We are all dealing with different feelings on the topic, but I’m pretty sure you’d all be pretty cheesed if I lost my license and could never do your hair again! It’s not worth the risk to me. Do I love wearing a mask all day? No. Do I love taking extra time in between everyone to do extra disinfection? No. Do I love having to remind you to bring a mask? No. But I will continue with it all because I love what I do, and I truly love you all too. You are all my happy place. During this whole shmozz, let’s try to see the positives and remember that we can still see each other, we have a roof over our head and food on our tables. Share below what you’re thankful for! I’m so thankful for all of you and the support you have shown me, not only during this weird time, but the past years as well! I hope you can take a moment to remember things to be thankful for this weekend! https://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/b-c-s-public-health-offi
