Orwell Art raises awareness of the Holodomor by bringing the headlines of the current crisis in Ukraine into classrooms and providing historical context by teaching the book Orwell and The Refugees: The Untold Story of Animal Farm by Andrea Chalupa. The program connects Toronto classrooms with classrooms in Kyiv through our partner the Transnational Education Group, bringing Canadian and Ukrainians students together over Skype to discuss global affairs in the context of Orwell's Animal Farm and 20th century history.
