Choosing to spend money at a local bookstore in a way that reflects both the cost and the value of maintaining a physical space is one important way that a person can disrupt and counteract the individualizing, depersonalizing, and dehumanizing advances of the modern world upon her or his life. * * * Check out our latest blog post, If Wendell Berry Were Ever to Write on Local Bookstores by our staff member, Zachary Gordon: https://bookstore.regent-college.edu//wendell-berry-on-boo

We had a great conversation with Dr. Vinoth Ramachandra this morning, and you can watch the recording here! Vinoth released a new book this year entitled SARAH'S LAUGHTER: LAUGHTER, DOUBT, TEARS, AND CHRISTIAN HOPE published by Langham Publishing. Thanks to IFES International Fellowship of Evangelical Students for co-sponsoring, and to Dr. Rhonda McEwen for hosting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CBLw39vGd0&feature=youtu.be

Hey Regent College students: did you ever consider that your CTC paper might one day grow into a PhD dissertation, a scholarly monograph, and eventually be published by IVP Academic? That's what happened to Regent alum and DE instructor, Dr. Matthew J Thomas! The seeds of Matt's new book, PAUL'S 'WORKS OF THE LAW' IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF SECOND-CENTURY RECEPTION were planted during his first-year research at Regent. Want to learn more about the world of academic Christian publishing? Interested in Pauline theology? Have questions about the mysterious world of academia? Just want to meet your favourite Regent DE instructor? Join us next Thursday at 12pm for a virtual book launch and discussion hosted by Josh Wilhelm.

As part of the MATS Arts concentration, our students prepare a project integrating the arts and theology. For Whitney Buckner, this took form by combining a few of her passions -- food, creation, and, of course, photography -- into a cookbook! Whitney whimsically guides us through meditative reflections on Sabbath for every season while also sharing about her experience working alongside those who grow our food. "Taste & See" is a gem! We still have some copies at the bookst...ore! Get yours today! Here at Regent College, we like to engage in conversations about the land and our calling to 'abad' and 'shamar' (serve and tend) creation. These conversations take form during, for example, the Summer "Boat Course" or the Fall "Food Course", both taught in partnership with A Rocha Canada . Some students and staff also like to get their knees dirty and care for Regent's own garden. That tomato trellis? Our professor of New Testament George Guthrie put it together . #regentbookstore #regentcollege #amreading #cookbook #seasonalcooking #eatseasonally #creationcare

#thingsamazonwillneverdoforyou Offer you signed book plates by N. T. Wright and Michael Bird when you purchase a copy of their terrific NEW TESTAMENT IN ITS WORLD by Zondervan Academic Backstory:... Last winter we hosted these two fine gentlemen for a semi-virtual book launch on #NTiiW We beamed them in from Australia and the UK, broadcasting the feed to both a live and a virtual audience. Here’s the recording: https://youtu.be/dtWK0mhuIVw In an effort to add a personal touch, they both kindly agreed to sign a stack of book-plates for customers who purchased the book. (Book-plates are stickers that can be attached to an inside page of the book). This meant sending the plates to Australia, the UK, and then back to Canada! We’ve still got a small collection of plates left, so grab a copy!
