They turned the lights on for me in the lower level lounge of our #chateauonthelake This is an exquisite feature of semi-precious stone illuminated with an led light pad from behind. It’s the wow factor in the bar area. The secret to the success of this room lies in in the beautiful materials surrounded by simple and clean form. How do I describe the soul of a project? It’s the essence of the design and the emotion behind it is always guided by the people who will live there. Long after our work is done, a home builds character through experience and the layers of life’s joys and sorrows. It will continue to shape itself. The collections will be random and uncalculated because they will come from moments and places that offer them to us in precious little doses. Accomplishments will walk through the ...doors and settle on mantles and shelves. Light and shadow playfully dance through paned windows so that profiles in plaster can show us their best side. This is a character that develops over time. It changes and continues to grow, learn, and then subside into the niches. The old and the new will exist in perfectly paired harmony. The onyx slab is a central feature in the lounge bar wall and one that inspired the rest of our #contemporaryfrenchchateauproject It’s the first element that I found for this beautiful home and the rest fell into place from there (well perhaps not that easily but it was definitely a great starting point). This is an illuminated feature, lit with an led light pad behind the stone. It has an entirely different appeal when lit and is equally beautiful and interesting. The detail...ing includes a perimeter pin-striping of polished nickel all set with a matte grey slab of Dekton that also wraps a floating counter surface. The combination of deep walnut and French polished white panels with sleek reveal details is an elegant and dramatic concept that soars to two storeys. On each side wine cabinets complete this feature. We’re in the midst of completing this haven room with a beautiful niched-out and custom seating area. Can’t wait to share the room with you! The powder room in our #chateauonthelake will be so very beautiful. I’ve been posting snippets of progress but can’t wait to unveil the entire space from floor to ceiling. A sophisticated @phillipjeffriesltd wall covering sits within the panels; a lovely backdrop for gold and quartzite sconces that will flank a custom mirror (in production now) The roman shade of wool and velvet went up this week and was quickly covered with plastic wrap until the construction dust settles.
