For Fall Semester 2020, our Community Liturgy takes place every Tuesday & Thursday at 1:10 PM. We’ve implemented an online reservation system to ensure appropriate physical distancing in the chapel, and contact tracing (if necessary). You can register for each specific Mass you’d like to attend by clicking on the appropriate date at www.regiscollege.ca/events. Masses for the first two weeks of October will be added soon!

"Discovering Pope Francis" from Liturgical Press Academic recently won 3rd place in the Theology category at the 2020 Association of Catholic Publishers Excellence in Publishing Awards. Regis Academic Dean Susan K. Wood, SCL, contributed an essay to the volume titled, Pope Francis and the Ecclesiology of Henri de Lubac. Congratulations to the book’s editors and all contributors! A well-deserved honour.

SUMMER 2020 APPEAL Dear Friends, As we have celebrated the joy of the Easter season and of Pentecost, we have also been dealing with a situation that has been a challenge for all of us, an utterly unexpected disruption of routines and activities we largely take for granted. Some speak of all of us in this together when referring to the pandemic and its consequences, and there is certainly truth in that. Yet some are suffering a great deal, and others hardly at all. The many a...nd diverse people who make up Regis College are not exempt from these disparities, and I dare say that we are called to be sensitive to the needs of those around us, of friends and family, but also of others. I write in order to ask you to consider making a gift to the College at this time, in order to help keep our many academic programs available and accessible in a time of reduced income for Regis. Such reduction takes various forms, rental income being one. We normally bring in a good amount of summer income this way, especially from film shoots, but we expect little or none of this activity in summer 2020. I also draw special attention in order that we may assist our students in particular need. For example, some of our international students, students essential to our global mission as a Jesuit School of Theology, may need significant financial assistance if they are to enroll at Regis at all. To be sure, you may find that you cannot give at this time of unemployment and financial uncertainty, but I ask that those with the capacity to do so to consider making a larger gift than usual. We will be most grateful for your assistance in this difficult period. Let us pray that this pandemic may end soon, and that if we are changed by it, it may be to become persons more generous and compassionate with each other. So proud of our Jesuit scholastics ordained to the transitional deaconate or priesthood over the weekend. Due to pandemic restrictions on gatherings of large crowds, it was a bit different than usual - a simple (but still joyful!) time. Congratulations to two of our students who were recently awarded Toronto School of Theology and University of Toronto scholarships - Erica Lee received the '19-'20 Margaret O’Gara Scholarship for Advanced Degree Students in Ecumenical Theology, and Jesse Sudirgo received the Ontario Graduate Scholarship. Some good news during this difficult time!

UPDATE: In line with the Government of Ontario's continued mandate on social distancing, we anticipate that Regis College will continue to remain closed beyond the Easter long weekend. And as previously announced, all our Summer 2020 courses will be delivered remotely.

This closure is in line with the precautions advised by the University of Toronto and public health officials against the spread of COVID-19. Be safe, everyone!
