During the May 27th Nova Scotia COVID-19 press briefing, Premier Stephen MacNeil and the Chief Medical Officer of Public Health, Dr. Robert Strang announced that we will be able to re-open effective June 5th. It has been a difficult past few months, but we look forward to treating our patients again! Our number one priority will be to deliver care in the safest possible way for our community and for our staff. We have been staying up to date with the ever-changing recommen...dations provided by the Department of Public Health throughout the past few months. Dr. Strang and the NS College of Physiotherapists have been developing a series of guidelines that we will be following upon our re-opening. We will provide information regarding social distancing, scheduling and personal protective equipment (PPE) over the coming days. In addition to resuming in-clinic treatment, we will continue to offer Virtual Healthcare treatment, as we have throughout the pandemic. We will be contacting all of our existing patients regarding resuming treatment. We will be in the clinic over the next week if you need to contact us ((902)539-9600) and for new patients as well. We have heard the term new normal frequently over the past few months, and although this will be a considerable adjustment for everyone, we look forward to facing this challenge with you together! VIRTUAL CARE NOW OFFERED!!! As you are aware, Reid Physiotherapy discontinued in-clinic physiotherapy treatment on March 20th under the recommendations of the Nova Scotia Chief Medical Officer and Department of Public Health. However, we are happy to be able to offer Virtual Care services to patients! Contact us by phone (902)539-9600, through Facebook Messenger or by email (Guy Reid at [email protected] or Mike Wadden at [email protected]) to book an appointment!... What is Virtual Care? Virtual care is any care provided remotely. This includes rehabilitation services that use any form of technology (including, but not restricted to video conferencing, internet and telephone) as an alternative to face to face interventions. This allows patients to receive one on one care and education from our physiotherapy staff from the safety of their home. We can provide the following: Reviews and progressions of exercise programs for current patients. Education regarding management of existing injuries and conditions. Progression of post-operative rehabilitation for surgical patients. Assessment and management of new injuries for new or existing clients. What do I need to access Virtual Care services? All you need is an iPhone, laptop, tablet or android. You will be sent by a secure link by email which you will use to join the appointment. Will my extended health benefits cover Virtual Care Services? The Nova Scotia Physiotherapy association and counterparts across the country have established agreements for virtual care coverage with most major health insurers, including Benefit Plan Administrators (BPA), Canada Life, Canadian Construction Workers Union, Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance, CINUP, ClaimSecure, Cowan, Desjardins Insurance, First Canadian, GMS Carrier, GroupHEALTH, GroupSource, Industrial Alliance, Johnson Inc., Johnson Group Inc., LiUNA Local, Manion, Manulife Financial, Maximum Benefit, Sun Life Financial and TELUS Adjudicare. If you have another type of coverage, please contact them to ensure that you are approved.
