STATEMENT FROM PREMIER BRIAN PALLISTER ON NATIONAL DAY OF MOURNING Manitoba is joining with jurisdictions across Canada in proclaiming April 28 as a National D...ay of Mourning and observing a minute of silence at 11 a.m. for workers and their families who have been affected by workplace injury and illness. Today, we pause to remember and honour those who died of work-related causes and those whose lives have been forever impacted by injury and illness. In 2019, 19 Manitobans died as a result of occupational illness and acute hazards. They are mourned by their families, friends and coworkers. As we remember them, we are renewing our commitment to keep Manitobans safe and healthy in the workplace.
