The 2017 Interior Design show in Vancouver was great. Among the interesting items was a $8900 free standing bathtub painted by an artist in Montreal. Would you put this in your bathroom? There were some other tamer painted versions

I saw these beautiful faucets at the Interior Design Show in Vancouver. They are by DXV Which is American Standard's high end products. They cost about $20,000 for one faucet. Too much for the average person but look closely how it is open where the water usually flows. So the filaments are so small for the water to travel up to the faucet that it seems magic! Love them!

I love tiles so I created a mosaic picture that is going to be a part of an exposition at UBC Nest art gallery on the May long weekend.The title of my piece is the Ocean of Love and Mercy. It depicts how we are all little fish in this big ocean looking for Love and we can find it through surrender to a higher power.

I designed a headboard and nightstands which was made out of used fir lumber I have had for a very long time, passed down from my father which were bridge timbers. It is amazing to see something come from a questionable pile of lumber that takes up space to beautiful, useful furniture which we will have around for a long time! We left the character in the wood with its knots and nail holes to add to the pieces. I am so happy we finally have new bedroom furniture!

A beautiful vein cut travertine on the cascade of the fireplace makes it so interesting with a quartz mantle. The gas fireplace is modern with shimmering glass in it. Nice to look at especially at this time of year when people often have it on!

A new light sconce with a different lampshade Did you know you can get custom lampshades in all sorts of materials? This sconce had a grey shiny fabric on it and the client didn't like it so a creamy textured fabric was picked since all the trim was cream.

I picked out some custom fabrics for a client's home which included living room chairs, cushions and dining room chairs that all had to work together in an open concept as well as work with existing pieces. The goal was to have a more timeless look that can be taken to the next house. They all look lovely together!

Here is a beautiful staircase done in engineered dark brown wood flooring with mitred nosings. The glass banister is a contemporary style that allows light to flow through into a darker area and almost disappear, allowing the space to seem larger.

The backsplash is complete. I love the great colour on it which makes it come alive. It is a glass 2 x 12 tile that has white grout to emphasize the size and texture. This size is a nice, modern size.

I was given this great product as a gift called Sugru. It is a malleable product in different colours that you can form into anything and put on most anything as well which turns into rubber. It is so easy to use. It hardens in 24 hrs. In the pictures, I have made cabinet door handles as I wanted them white and really small. They are not perfect but they are charming. I made a white hook for a fairy to hang off of which is attached to the white frame to make it disappear and further the illusion that she is flying. And I attached it to a tea strainer handle that wasn't long enough and kept falling into the tea pot. It is so much fun and if you want to take it off, you can scrape it off from non-porous materials. I love this stuff! I volunteered for the Shelbourne community kitchen to design their kitchen on a budget. I did upper cabinets on one wall and the other walls are open shelves on silver brackets. The open shelves are simple 2 x 10's that have been routered on the edges to look custom and varnished to protect them. This all had to work with the existing vinyl floor. In the end I love the warm, cozy feel it has while having lots of storage to enable them to cook in small groups to prepare meals together. The Shelbourne Community Kitchen provides support to those in the community who lack adequate access to healthy food. I was very pleased to be a part of a team working to help others have a better life.

A client wanted custom blinds and wallpaper for his asian themed style. The blinds are beautifully made of walnut so you can see the grain in them and the wallpaper is a grass cloth, perfect for his theme. The textures make his bedroom quite cozy and dramatic.
