We are here to HELP! A note to our valued customers: In response to the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak all businesses must assess their business practices. At Reliant Tires we are taking this situation very seriously. We have instituted some policies to help promote social distancing while working hard to ensure that we are able to provide you the essential services you require.... We have evaluated ways to provide and promote only essential services while easing the burden on our customers during this uncertain financial time. To that end we are instituting the following policies. All work will be done by appointment only. We will only be taking appointments on Wednesdays and Thursdays. (If we fill all our slots we may book on Fridays as well, this we be determined on a case by case basis) Our waiting room will be closed to the public, all vehicles, regardless of the type work being performed must be left with us until the work is completed. The front door will be locked, we ask that you call 780-454-8473 to be admitted. All deliveries must come to the rear door. We are encouraging our customers to only come in for essential services. o This means that we recommend not switching your winter tires out until the end of April, or better yet, until the medical professionals have given the all clear to return to business as usual. We realize that there is still going to be certain repairs and routine regular maintenance work that cannot be pushed off into the future. As such, to ease the burden on our customers we are reducing our current shop rate of $90.00/hr by 20% to $72.00/hr during this period. Additionally, we will be greatly reducing our markup on parts and working to find the most cost-effective parts available. To our valued customers. We will now be open on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm, for the winter tire season. Due to the covid-19 pandemic we are first come first serve, and you will not be able to wait for your vehicle at the shop. You will be required to drop it off and you will receive a call when it is ready for pick up.

Ten tips on winter tires and wheels. - 1. "All-Season" tires are actually 3-season tires in Canada. Even "All-Weather" tires are made for milder winters than we get. This is Canada, not Florida. 2. People say "it's only for winter," but in reality your winter tires and wheels will be on from October to April. That's 7 months. 3. If you can downsize, do it. You'll get better traction and save money. That's a win-win for you. 4. If you can't downsize and have low-profile (45 ...or lower) tires, consider studded tires. It'll make a big difference. 5. Even the cheapest winter tire is better than an all-season tire. 6. Look for the mountain peak and snowflake (see below). That means it meets the criteria for a winter tire. 7. Consider getting a second set of wheels for your winter tires. They'll pay for themselves in 2-1/2 to 3 years through savings on mounting and installation costs. 8. Don't be Bubba. Put some hubcaps on those steel wheels. They'll look way better. 9. TPMS is more important in winter than summer. Temperatures fluctuate a lot more, causing changes in tire pressure. 10. DON'T use chrome wheels in winter. The salt they put on the roads (usually magnesium chloride) is highly caustic and will cause the chrome to peel off. See more
