FYI, this is the cover of this year's Mayne Island Map & Brochures. If there are any businesses needing some please let me know. I have a box of them and can dr...op them off when I'm out doing errands. Also, since the picture cuts it off, the cover image was done by Drew Ferneyhough this year See more

"This holiday weekend is not the time for travel, unless absolutely necessary. Rather, let’s make it an ‘unwind and be kind’ weekend at home." This was the key ...message from today's COVID-19 update. Other updates include: 34 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 1,370 cases in BC. 2 new deaths in the Fraser and Vancouver Coastal health regions, for a total of 50 COVID-19 related deaths in BC. There have been no new long-term care facility outbreaks in the last day, and one more outbreak declared over. Health authorities continue to provide support to the 20 affected long-term care and assisted-living facilities. 858 people who tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered. This is a challenging time for all us physically, emotionally and mentally. There are many resources already available and more on the way. If you are struggling and need help, please reach out. A process to support workers at long-term care and assisted-living homes to work at a single facility has now been implemented. Find more information on these updates: https://news.gov.bc.ca/21998

Now that we are in Phase 3, which allows for travel within BC, Mayne Island is welcoming visitors during the pandemic. Many businesses on Mayne Island are ope...n with extra measures to keep yourselves and themselves safe. We recommend wearing a mask and use the hand sanitation available upon entry and departure of every establishment requesting that you do so. We want your time on Mayne Island to be enjoyable for everyone. Accommodations, activity providers, restaurants, shops, and stores have been working diligently to implement WorkSafe BC guidelines for cleaning and physical distancing to keep staff and patrons safe. Respecting health guidelines as well as business’ new operating procedures will help ensure a positive experience for all. We do ask that you follow Phase 3 guidelines and if you are feeling sick, stay home, and if you develop symptoms while travelling, self-isolate immediately and contact 8-1-1 for guidance and testing. Please be aware that our medical resources are quite limited on the island. Also, for advance planning purposes, the ferries are running with a larger capacity now, but still are not at 100%, so that is something to take note of. If you have any questions please don't hesistate to contact us and we'll try to answer them, or direct you to someone who can. In Dr. Henry's words, "Be kind, be calm, and be safe."

Staying at home day-in and day-out can be a little ...but we have some ways you can alleviate your stress around the house.

RE/MAX Mayne Pender 20.10.2020

The rate of new COVID-19 cases is slowing down in BC because of your actions. Do your part. Continue to practice strong physical distancing. And remember: be kind, be calm, and stay safe.
