Winter storm warning in effect for: Pictou County Hazardous winter conditions are expected.... Total snowfall: 30 to 50 cm. Maximum wind gusts: 50 to 80 km/h, except near 90 km/h along Eastern Shore and parts of Cape Breton. Locations: Annapolis Valley, Central and Eastern Nova Scotia. Time span: snow ending from west to east today. Remarks: Snow will taper off this morning for central Nova Scotia. Strong winds, snow, and blowing snow are expected to persist for eastern mainland Nova Scotia and Cape Breton into this afternoon. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Take frequent breaks and avoid strain when clearing snow. Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.
