The new Climate Action and Awareness Fund is accepting proposals for projects that will fight #ClimateChange in communities across the country. Over the next 5 ...years, $206 million will be invested in projects that engage youth, support community #ClimateAction, invest in climate research, and boost climate science and technology. The Fund will help reach its climate goals, including net zero emissions by 2050. Eligible groups could get funding between $100,000 and $6 million per project. The Kennebecasis Watershed Restoration Committee will be hosting their annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup along tributaries and the main stem of the Kennebecasis river on Saturday, September 26th from 9:30am-12:00pm at Burton Park in Sussex! Great opportunity to get involved!

The New Brunswick Invasive Species Council and the Belleisle Watershed Coalition are asking boaters, anglers, and cottage owners to be on the look-out for Eurasian Water-Milfoil in Belleisle Bay after Dr. Meghann Bruce’s Research Team at the Canadian Rivers Institute observed the first known location of the highly invasive aquatic plant in the area. Le Conseil des espèces envahissantes du Nouveau-Brunswick et la Coalition du bassin versant de Belleisle demandent aux plaisanciers, pêcheurs et propriétaires de chalet d'être à l'affût du myriophylle en épi dans la baie de Belleisle après que l'équipe de recherche du Dre Meghann Bruce de L’Institut canadien des rivières a observé le premier emplacement connu de cette plante aquatique très envahissante dans la région.
