Due to the announcement made that classes will be cancelled starting Friday, we are doing our Thursday recitals a week early!!! Please tag anyone you know in Thursday classes. Please note that these recitals are very low key. Some classes may just show off exercises or dance activities they have learned. Some may have a dance. Some may match outfits, some may not. It’s really just a chance for parents to see what their children have been working on these past several weeks.... AS FOR MONDAY RECITALS- we are still figuring it out. Please have grace for us!!! We will update you when we know for sure what our plan is. Thank you everyone for your unending support. This is so tricky for everyone. We appreciate your understanding and compassion during these times.

Feeling really super thankful for the dance community amongst studios during this season! These pictures were taken of our Renew students by the lovely Miss Taryn who teaches at @mhspadance . With the restrictions and everyone trying to stay safe we’ve all needed more subs! It’s been so nice to help each other out in that way and know our classes and students are in good hands. Miss Becky has also REALLY appreciated the support and open communication with Miss Steph (@infin...itydancemh ) and Miss Kelly (@hsd.co_official ). We have been able to encourage one another, laugh, resource, and make sure we are all on the same page while we navigate what’s next! Value #9 Be Strong enough to grow When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too The act of self improvement has the affect of improving others around us. The positiveness of striving to be better then oneself has an active energy that others pick up on. This week, we will be asking students to self reflect on something they want to grow in at dance class. When we take the time to self reflect, we can learn from our experiences, improve our friendships and overcome obstacles that stand in the way of our goals and dreams.

We are changing our small in studio recitals this semester to be on Facebook live. With COVID numbers going up, and the cleaning schedule being tight we have made the decision with the College that doing Facebook live would be best at this time. The recital will be during your child’s last class for 10-15 min. It will also be posted if you are unable to watch it live. THANK YOU to all of our parents, you have been SO supportive and SO flexible and we are SO grateful for your... understanding. We really are so blessed to have our Renew families. We know our dancers are THRILLED to show you guys what they’ve been working so hard on these past weeks!! Value #10 Be a strong dancer Some people dream of success, while others wake up and work hard at it This week we will be talking about the importance of working hard and the ways we can show dedication to our love of dance. For example; practicing at home, paying attention in class, trying your best and being prepared (going to the bathroom before class, bringing water, etc). Students will be working on skill building exercises and cleaning up their dances for our Facebook Live performance! We are so excited!!!

10-12yr / TEENS hip hop class!!

This past while has been a rollercoaster for everyone. Filled with unknowns, anxiety, confusion, plans and more back up plans, sadness, hope, dreams put on hold, community, fights, and so much more. The ups and downs are becoming exhausting for us all. I was creating my lesson plan this am, remembering our value of the week. ‘Be strong enough to grow.’ Through todays challenges and rewards, the saying that kept coming to my head was, ‘grow through what you go through.’ Refl...ecting, I asked myself, what have I grown in? What else can I learn? What is the lesson I can take from this? How can I show my kids and the kids I’m teaching to be strong enough to grow through hard or confusing times? I know it’s hard, this COVID stuff has been going on for what seems forever. But hopefully we can grow through it. Become better than we once were. Share love and light. And be an example for our kids. Let’s keep supporting one another and lifting each other up, cultivating a culture of peace and kindness. Classes are still a go! We normally follow the schools. Last night they said classes are still a go but this am, since the power went out at schools they had to cancel. We still have power! So we are good to go! If you are unable to make it- not a problem! We understand. ... Thursday classes are also still a go. Since this was a holiday the schools recently added, we are still scheduled to run classes. Have a fun sunny snowy day everyone!!! (but come to dance if you can )
