Don’t forget rest is just as important as work (just ask Bill here) When I choose not to take rest when I need it I create more imbalance in my body and in my life. I’m the type of person that has to force myself to take rest days sometimes and my mind goes into overdrive with critical thought:... You’re lazy You’re weak You have no discipline You’ll never reach your goals You have no work ethic On and on and on. Only when I take a moment to be still, present and to breathe am I able to discern between what my mind WANTS and what my body NEEDS. Somedays my mind wins and I push too far, sometimes I choose to listen to my body and I am always grateful I did. Discernment takes time, practice and patience. Take a moment, be still, breathe, tune in What is your body asking for today? #takerest #discernment #deeplistening #connection #practice

Conscious stillness is stillness with the absence of external distraction. When I engage in conscious stillness I am either in meditation, breathwork, legs up the wall or savasana. Conscious stillness gives me the opportunity to tune into my system and observe what is present in that given moment. ... When I am in this place I am choosing to fully acknowledge my emotions, sensations and thoughts without getting caught up in them (the practice of non attachment). By acknowledging what’s present in my body and mind and practicing compassionate self awareness I am able to process my experiences and create space for whatever my life will throw at me next. Don’t forget to take a few minutes every day for conscious stillness, allow whatever is present in your body to be there, leave out the judgments, leave out the stories and simply observe. #connection #nonjudgement #nonattachment #practicesforspiritualgrowth #selfdevelopment #selfobservation

. And some of those benefits are very difficult to explain verbally and have to be experienced over time. , , .... There have been over 1500 studies done by over 250 independent researchers show casing the amazing effects of a meditation practice. : : . One of the biggest positive effects of a consistent meditation practice is how it helps us better cope with daily stressors. The ability to remain calm, compassionate and attentive to ourselves and others during the stressful times in life is a truly profound shift in being. We shift from being habitually reactive to every mountain or mole hill, to remaining more calm through deep awareness of ourselves where we better understand that most suffering in life is a choice and we get to choose how we show up to life’s many challenges. Meditation helps us loosen the grip of the structured thinking mind (doing) and drop down into our feeling mind (being). This is a shift from the linear, logical left brain into our creative, sensual right brain. Here we get to live in the present and free ourselves of difficult emotions of the past (resentment, depression, guilt or grief) as well as stress about the future (anxiety, insecurity, fear). ' .... You have to actually do it to reap the reward. Consistency is key. Start with 5 minutes every day, thats better than 45 minutes once every two weeks. . ’ . . #practice #consistency #startsmall #being #FREEDOM

’ . Somewhere along the way I noticed that no matter how turbulent my life became, I was still able to maintain a sense of inner peace and contentment amidst the external chaos. This is not to say I am void of uncomfortable emotions or that I’m not affected by life’s stress.... But I am able to process and bounce back from life’s many challenges quickly and with relative ease. . . Contact me to book your free workshop!
