As an addendum to the Easter Bunny appearance, a photo of Bunny's driver surfaced. I thought I should share it. :)

Renfrew Camping 03.08.2020

Dear campers, Unfortunately our field day events for this upcoming weekend are cancelled because of restrictions put in place due to COVID-19. We will still have some activities on Saturday, a kids craft at 11:00 am, adult bingo from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, and kid's bingo at 6:30 pm. Come on out and enjoy your weekend with us here at Renfrew Camping.

Well, the weather cooperated and allowed Santa to make his rounds to all the children in the campground yesterday. But just in time! Shortly after he delivered the last present, the skies opened up, and as everyone knows, although Santa loves the snow, rain will melt the jolly old fella away. Thanks to Santa and all his merry elves and hope to see you again next year!

Yay, the pool is finally open! And with a new handrail for added safety. And just in time for our Christmas weekend. Santa's gonna like that!

Happy Father's Day, a day early. We are pleased to be able to announce that we are allowed now to open our playgrounds to the children again. Visitors to Renfrew Camping are restricted to the bubble families. No more than 10 people to gather together at one place at the same time. Pools are not being allowed to open yet, but we are getting ours ready and are pleased to announce that we have installed, for swimmers' safety, a new hand rail on the steps.

An update to the update. Bubble families of the seasonal campers will be accepted as visitors beginning June 14. Bubble families have been defined (so far) as close relatives. Those visitors will have to register at the office when they arrive. We are currently readying the office to register visitors and campers safely. Wood and ice will be available at that time as well.

Regarding the recent update to campgrounds, campers seem to have the impression that things have returned to normal. Unfortunately, the devil is in the details. Swimming Pools remain closed Playground equipment remain closed No large gathering events such as dances, bingos, etc.... No Roofed Accommodations (like our rental RV) Campers must fill out a COVID-19 form, and if they show any symptoms of the virus they must be refused entrance. Operators are expected to play a lead role in ensuring the requirements for safe camping are followed Washroom facilities must remain locked and available for use by one household unit at a time. Same thing for laudromats. Facilities must be sanitized after use. Payment by e-transfer or phoned-in credit card number is recommended. Contact between staff and campers must be kept at a distance. Cash can be used but staff must wear gloves when handling it. Only 50% of campsites may be used. Groups must be no larger than 10 people. Social distancing of six feet must be maintained. Dr. Strang has made it clear that the responsibility for enforcing these rules falls to the campground owner. While many campers are making the effort, it is obvious to me that there are those who are not distancing at all. This does not encourage me to open the campground up further. Dr. Strang also indicated campground owners may open only as much as they feel comfortable or prepared to deal with the COVID-19 rules required by Public Health. So, consequently, we have decided that, at least until the liability is lifted from the shoulders of the campground owners, we will not be accepting campers unless they meet these conditions. Only campers with fully self-contained washroom facilities in their RVs will be accepted. The washrooms and laudromat will not be open for the time being. Campers will be assigned sites that separate them from the seasonal campers. Campers who want to camp in groups must keep that number to 10 or less. Payment must be made via e-transfer or by credit card number phoned in. Purchases of wood must be made at time of payment. The wood will be delivered to the site. We will try these procedures out for the month of June. They could be tweaked as we see necessary, or as the province makes changes that affect us. Hopefully, pools will be allowed to open in July.
