Recently the World Health Organization deemed COVID 19 as a pandemic. Many people are asking what to do if they think they have this virus. If you have travelled outside of Canada, please self isolate for 14 days... If you are feeling well or have only mild symptoms please stay home. Self isolate. Please try to stay away from others. We suggest you call Public Health at 613-735-8653 Ext 555. You will be asked to leave a message and someone will call back within a day. They will arrange home screening if indicated. There may be screening sites in the future. You can also call your family doctors office or Telehealth Ontario at 1-866-797-0000. We understand the Telehealth number is very busy. We ask you not to just show up at our office as if we have any exposure we may have to quarantine our staff, nurses and doctors which would mean we could not provide care to any of our patients for 2 weeks. At all times use infection control precautions. Number one wash your hands with soap and water. If you have to cough or sneeze, do so in your elbow. If you are significantly ill and are concerned you have been exposed to COVID 19 please call ahead to your local emergency department and then present yourself so they may be able to appropriately isolate you or if you call 911 make sure they are aware of a potential exposure.
