Here’s what Heather wrote; The pictures don’t even do Lorie’s place justice. The calming and peaceful environment gave my wife and I the recharge we needed. Lorie was very responsive, the place is fully stocked with so many incredible extras. The grounds, patio and river were incredible. Quiet, private and welcoming. The river was perfect for swimming, a sandy beach and a walk in entrance. The beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable. The space stayed cool despite the h...ot weather they were calling for. Great breeze coming over the patio, you don’t even notice heat. Zaylah her Bernese is such a sweetheart and came by every once in a while to check in on us and our pups. We spent 5 nights at Lorie’s place and it was still so hard to leave. Thank you for everything Lorie and Zaylah, we are incredibly grateful. Here is a testimonial from my most recent guests. The reason I am posting on my personal page is because I feel strongly and have since May 2020 that living in ...the north country is a privilege and as I have witnessed over these past months. Many people have had such a struggle, especially in the rural cities. I believe we all deserve to be supported thru these crazy times. This couple stayed put on my property and I do believe many people do as they come to our area. Lets try to let go of the fear of our visitors and trust we will all be just fine! They too deserve what we sometimes have taken for granted. Lorie, You cannot even begin to imagine what you have given us by sharing your space. Working in hospitals through the pandemic, brought on so many emotions, exhaustion and simply put, mental and physical drainage! In sharing your beautiful space and property (and lots of Zaylah lovin's) with Kim and I, you've given us a recharge, both mentally and physically. When we first went down to the river I could have cried. Its so peaceful and tranquil. Sitting out on the patio with a book, hours would go by before I knew it. Your space is perfect! I even said to Kim "you can tell it was designed by a women" there were so many perfect touches and we didn't find ourselves missing anything! The pups had a blast especially at the water. Lorie's place is wonderful and exactly as advertised. It's a cute little apartment ideal for couples or a small family and was well stocked with everything one would need for a comfortable stay. It is also close to a lot of fun activities like snow mobiling, dog sledding, horse back riding, etc. Overall, Lorie is a wonderful host and was very quick to respond each time I had a query and make sure our every request was well taken care of. So, once again... I’ve been blessed. Here’s my review FOR MY guests who stayed over the New year for 5 nights. I can’t say enough great things about this lovely couple Variety and Ben. If you are a host or super host pay attention. As a super host it’s so important for our guests to have the best experience at our homes or cottage. ... Also we hope our homes preform at optimum efficiency. Well my homes sewage pump broke when Variety and Ben were in the space on New Year’s Eve Day. My worst nightmare really. They were unable to use the washroom and cleaning facility for about 24 hours. I did get it all fixed but what amazes me about this couple is all they had was appreciation for me and for the space. Not once did they give the look of disappointment or judgement. As a person and host, that meant everything to me. This lovely couple I give 5 stars all around and especially 10 stars for their respect and love of the home they occupied for 5 days. They are both in my family forever with Airbnb. Thank you Variety and Ben And here is Variety’s Review for me; Here’s what Verity wrote What a wonderful and tranquil week spent at Lorie’s place. The space was beautiful such consideration and detail taken in the decor to make it feel so cozy and relaxing. The woodburner is an amazing feature and there is everything you could need, with the kitchen so well equipped. Being located on the river and having the space to walk our dog each morning was perfect and so magical with all the snow. We even ventured out in the canoe for a paddle up the river York and it was stunning. We loved XC skiing and hiking trails up at Algonquin park each day. Lorie was an amazing host so kind, accommodating and quick to respond to any questions we had about the area. Her passion and effort that she has put into making it a wonderful space was evident. Zaylah her pup was gorgeous so friendly and playful, our dog loved having a play mate. We wish we could have stayed longer and are already hoping to come back. We couldn’t have stayed in a more perfect place to see out 2019 and see in the New Year. Thank you Lorie for making it such a memorable stay. Feeling humbled once again. But this time it’s feeling a little more special. Verity and her partner travelled from the UK this season and drove from Vermont today. Despite our weather conditions. This is our correspondence a few minutes ago. It warms my heart that my guests love my space as much as I do! So blessed!
