: Hi everyone! It feels like a lot of my updates these days start with just a little while longer, and I wish I could say this one will be different. But I promise that things are moving in the right direction, and your support and patience have been amazing. I also wanted to be honest and transparent, and give you the whole story so far As you know, Reo's Movie Emporium is joining the Nelson Civic Theatre family and we’re REOpening (hehe) unde...r the society’s non-profit umbrella. I’m incredibly excited, and it’s a match made in heaven for both of our organizations. As with any merger of this size, there are bound to be a few hiccups and bumps in the road along the way. But if there’s anything we’ve learned this year, it’s how to roll with the punches (and not to mix one’s metaphors). We had originally intended on opening Reo’s in the Civic Theatre using the lobby as a storefront, but we soon learned that housing such a huge collection just wasn’t feasible in that space. If we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it right! So we decided to look for a separate storefront, which is no easy task as it turns out. We even found a fantastic place downtown, and just as the deal was about to be finalized it fell through. But everything happens for a reason, and it turns out there are even more exciting prospects on the horizon! While it may seem like we’ve stalled, nothing could be further from the truth. Things are just taking a little longer than I had anticipated, and I thought I owed you an explanation behind the delay. I’m working my hardest to get Reo’s back up and running, and now I have this amazing team at the Civic Theatre who are working their hardest too. Together, we’re not only going to reopen the Reo’s Movie Emporium that you’ve known and loved for decades, but we’re going to create an even better community and educational resource for decades to come. Again, thank you so much for all of your words of support, even when I’m walking downtown or getting groceries! It’s wonderful to see that your excitement hasn’t died and that there’s still such a huge demand for Reo’s. While I’m sad to say that I probably won’t be seeing you this Christmas, please know that big things are in the works, and it will be worth the wait. I’m looking forward to seeing all of your faces in the New Year, and BOY are we going to have a long list of movies to talk about All the best, Cole, Your Friendly Neighbourhood Video Store Guy
Happy 99th birthday Betty White! 2020 didn't take EVERYTHING from us!
Oh gods of all things nerdy, please let this happen!
It's a dark rainy Monday, so I think we could all use a little of this right now:

Reo’s is officially moving to The Nelson Civic Theatre! That’s right, after months of teasing, we can finally announce our big plans to REOpen! Reo's Movie Emporium will become Reo’s at the Civic, retaining all 18,000 titles and restructuring into central BC’s largest film library! We’re incredibly excited to join The Nelson Civic Theatre, with two Nelson landmarks in one historic location. This will be the same Reo’s you’ve come to know and love (only better) and all custom...er accounts will be transferred over so you can start renting right away :) There’s still lots planning, building, unpacking and sorting to be done, but we’re aiming for an early October opening. Hopefully just in time for International Independent Video Store Day! Thanks everyone for your patience and support over the last few months, it’s been an uncertain time for a lot of local establishments. But we survived Netflix, so no global pandemic is going to stop Reo’s! See you all very soon <3 #ShopLocal #StillOpen #VivaLaVideoStore #PhysicalMediaWillNeverDie #KeepNelsonWeird See more
We're working hard behind the scenes to get REO'S @ THE CIVIC up and running, and our nearly 18,000 film library into your hot little hands! Just call me Cole-Man The Librarian ;)

Who else LOVES the MASSiF Music Festival's branding this year?! Really taking me back to my MuchDance 90s days Remember that the Viral Edition (so clever) of MASSiF 2020 premieres next Saturday Sept. 26 at 6pm on www.festivalmassif.com!
Surely there's a "Video Killed The Radio Star" joke here somewhere, but I'm too tired to think of one.
If you missed my early-morning interview about the upcoming REO'S move to the Nelson Civic Theatre, KOOTENAY MORNING will repeat the episode at 5pm today (Wednesday) on Kootenay Co-op Radio CJLY 93.5FM.
