I’m really excited about this partnership with The Raw Carrot- a non-profit that employs community members on ODSP to make healthy gourmet soups. I reached out to them a few months ago hoping they would make us some custom soup with our certified organic produce and pasture-raised meats, and they delivered! This morning they dropped off some delicious Signature Carrot Soup and Flying Noodle Soup (chunky chicken noodle) now available in our farm store! But wait! It gets be...tter! For years we’ve tried to work out ways that our farm can help support less food secure members of our community. The food banks in our little towns are small and only open a few hours each week. They have limited ability to store fresh produce and this has always been a stumbling block for us. But then I had this great idea that instead of donating our fresh produce, we could donate some ready to eat meals made from our fresh, organic produce. So here we are, with these delicious, nutritious soups and for every 2 pouches of soup we sell from our farm store, we’ll donate one to our Minto food banks.
