Specialized safety equipment! We train emergency response workers with all sorts of equipment at their disposal. And it works well. This RDC rescue raft in particular has a floor that only runs along the flat bottom. Once the raft rockers up, the floor ends to allow rescuers to retrieve victims safely and easily! Share or Save this post if your team needs one of these!

Trivia Answer: Soft Rime Ice. This is a white ice deposit that forms when a water droplet in freezing fog freezes to the outer surface of an object (in this case, more ice) in calm to light wind. We would have also accepted "Pretty ice."

Ice course anyone? In these courses, you’ll learn about the formation of ice and how to assess the risks and hazards. You’ll also learn about travelling on the ice and what to do if you or someone else has fallen through. Courses vary depending on ice environments, tasks, and responsibilities.... All courses have the same core fundamentals of hazard assessment and personal safety. The courses are also designed specifically for the zone and risk you operate in. From the Cold zone (away from the ice edge) and low risk or static ice to the Hot Zone (actively operating/rescuing or working on/in the ice) and high risk or dynamic ice. If you send workers into the ice environment or you yourself have a responsibility to respond to the ice there is a course for you. Call us for more information at 1-800-663-8931 You can also find more on our website https://www.rescuecanada.ca/ice-safety-training/
