Heaven gained two more angels over the past couple days. Missy and Butterball were the sweetest, loving dogs that came to us all the way from the fires of Fort McMurray a few years back. Missy took a turn for the worst on Wednesday when her back legs gave out and she couldn’t walk. Unfortuntely nothing could be done to help her and the sad, but humane decision had to be made to end her life Thursday morning. Left to morn was her son Butterball. Together all their life, he wa...s devastated. After a walk on Friday Butterball collapsed and was unable to regain his stance. After being brought to the vet it was determined he would not be able to walk and being a tripod with just three legs surgery was not an option. Again, faced with the heart breaking, but humane decision, Butterball had to be euthanized. We think this boy truly died of a broken heart from being away from his mama. Rest In Peace sweet angels. You are together again See more

Update: Angel is now home. Thank you to everyone who helped bring her home. A happy ending to a sad story and aweful situation many pet owners find themselves in. We have been made aware that some people are concerned that this could be be fraud. This is a valid story and Angel has had her surgery ...Continue reading

***Lack of Large Animal Vets is causing animal Suffering and Death We want to offer our sincere condolences to the Mc Bride’s on the loss of their little Blanche. A life taken too soon. Our Government has to recognize that we do not have an adequate amount of large animal veterinarians and it is causing pain, suffering and death to the animals. ... How many more animals are going to have to suffer before the government recognizes this deficiency? Last November Gerry Byrne did not acknowledge there was a shortage of large animal vets even though the number was down to one . Now we are back down to two and one is off. That leaves one vet again for the entire avalon 24/7. How is this workload even physically possible? ..... it’s not! Minister Elvis Loveless we are calling on you to make a change!!!
