Just got a call from a customer. They had their computer at a place up in north Regina for a "cleanup" of viruses. They cleaned it up alright, by wiping her hard drive. Sure they saved her data to an external device first, but they didn't tell her about it prior. She lost all of her extra programs and has no way to reintall them. So you know we as rule always inform our customers prior to wiping a drive to "fix" windows. We also do not use a wiupe a reload to "virus" clean a system, unless absolutely necessary and we will inform you prior.

'm Mac, and I'm a PC - remember those ads? We do. As different as they look, they both have one thing in common. They can both get viruses. Yup it is true. We have been seeing an influx of Mac related malware popping up (literally). At RescueTECH we work on both Mac and Windows based computers. If you think your Mac (or PC) we can "rescue" you from that!

Always happy to give a second opinion. We enjoy taking the time to find the answer to your questions. Like "Why did my Mac Air stop working?". Here is a 2013 Mac Air that was looked at by Apple service. They told the customer it was "water damaged" and would take $700+ dollars to fix (we fixed it for 80$ :p ). Funny story... Apple never actually took the time to open the laptop. None of the laptop water sensors were tripped. In fact, it was one of the cleanest Mac Air motherboards we have seen in a while. It takes 30 seconds... By the way we "fixed" the laptop by... get this RECONNECTING THE CLIENTS BATTERY CABLE. True story :) That is why we are the place Mac users go to rescue their technology. #shoplocalyqr #macrepair

Which is most popular in Canada, Mac or PC? With all the Macs I see people carrying one would think that Mac is the "mac daddy" however the data says otherwise. Statscounter, which is used by websites to track data sees 76% of desktop and laptop users visting their website's on Windows OS, not Apple. Interesting. Looks like Bill Gate's rules on for webs traffic and desktop use... https://gs.statcounter.com/os-market-sh/desktop/worldwide/

Sometimes going back to work after a nice weekend is a downer. What is an even a bigger downer is getting back to work (or logging into your home office) and finding that your computer or tablet has died. Yikes!! Well no worries you have a data back up.... WHAT! no backup?!?! Always back your data up. Data lose can happen at anytime. If you need suggestions on how to run a backup give the techs at RescueTECH a call today. (306) 205-7522.
