Overall, the real estate market in December was a strong month with prices continuing to see upward pressure. Like with any stats it’s really important to look at each specific segment of the market, price bracket and product type when analyzing the numbers. Each micro market has their own story but overall the detached market made up the majority of the gains we saw in the market this fall. However condos remain flat and the downtown Vancouver market, specifically, continues... to be slow. We continue to see the attached and detached markets taking divergent paths which is a reflection of buyers and sellers re-evaluating their housing needs due to COVID and the work from home trend, and record low interest rates continuing to fuel the desire for more space outside of the urban centres throughout the lower mainland.
