Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best in 2017. Many of us make resolutions for the New Year and then give up on them before the end of January. Set yourself up for success in 2017, if you choose to make resolutions, pick actions that you can accomplish. It's not easy to change how we think, feel or behave!
Idea # 10 Enjoy Solitude sometimes the holidays is filled to too much visiting and doing. Take time to be alone today take a bath, read a book, watch a favorite movie
Idea # 9 Set Limits know what you can and cannot do. Say ‘no’ politely when you are asked to do something today that is not a fit for you.
Idea # 8 Play Playing is not just for kids and playing with your kids or grandkids is good for them as well. Make time to play a board game, play outside or find an interactive game on your smart phone.
Idea #7 Exercise Some studies suggest that exercise is as effective as anti-depressants in treating mild anxiety and depression. Exercise can be as simple as walking; take 20 minutes to exercise today.
Idea # 6 Laugh Laughter is often referred to as the ‘best medicine’. Find ways to laugh today - watch a funny video or tell a joke.

Merry Christmas - yesterday I did not post any ideas for balance during the holidays. I decided to "Unplug" Social media is amazing but sometimes keeping in touch can feel overwhelming. ‘Unplug’ for a while today to be in the moment with family and friends. Enjoy.
Idea #3 for maintaining Balance through the holidays Sleep Sleep experts tell us to maintain a regular sleep routine - Going to bed and getting up at about the same time everyday. This can be a challenge during the holidays - try to follow your usual pattern as much as possible.
