This is SO true! I have worked with lots of singers who have had performance anxiety, and practicing performing is the way they grow accustomed to how nervousness manifests in their body. Once they know what to expect, there is MUCH less anxiety, and even a sense of familiarity, to those physical reactions. Performing becomes easier - and more fun!!

I sent out a questionnaire for returning students, double checking I have accurate info for them and asking about their goals for their singing this year. The last question was "did you miss anything about singing lessons this summer?" because most of my students took the summer off. My littlest singer said "Going to Jennifer's house." I miss that too, kiddo!! :(... It will be a while yet, but I can't wait to get back to working online! See more

Virtual rehearsals mean no commuting to Toronto! When choirs cant meet in person its great to have a virtual alternative.

Ive worked with many adults who think they cant sing, or were told not sing to as children. Its super healing for them to realize they CAN sing, and that they enjoy it!

My adult students have been exploring choosing a Vocal Warrior card to direct their focus during their lessons this summer. So encouraging and uplifting - and as one student noticed last night, it really points out the negative manner that we tend to use when speaking to ourselves. Hopefully, we are practicing in order to shift that!
