http://RESPONSIVE 2019 is still on until Saturday 28th of September. Don’t miss this inspiring art exhibition at different sites downtown Halifax. Australian artist James Geurts is participating with his two compagnian video installations "FATHOM I+II. FATHOM I shown at Dalhousie Art Gallery is recorded in situ at the River Derwent in Tasmania where industrial waste from the River meets the inbound salt-water tide. James Geurts exposed his video equipment to the elements while f...ilming, allowing the circuitry of his camera to be effected by the atmosphere of the site. The results are a two-channel video projection of bright colors and glitching digital artifacts. FATHOM II is produced during his visit in Halifax and projected at the Halifax Harbour Front behind the Nova Scotia Power Building. Geurts video installation is based on the seafloor geology and magnetic anomalies of Halifax Harbour. Based in Australia, Geurts produces site and time-specific projects and gallery works. #responsivehfx @downtownhalifax #downtownhfx #halifaxnoise #lightart #projections #installationar t#videoart @nscaduniversity @visualartsns @dalhousieartgallery Anna Leonowens Gallery @artgallerynovascotia #agns #newmediaart @james.geurts #halifaxharbour #hfxharbourfront

http://RESPONSIVE 2019 has been started successfully and is up for 3 more days!! The black-light art installation "Another Unknown World" at the Anna Leonowens Gallery is another exciting part of the exhibition and a collaborative project by artist Marek Radke with students from St. Joseph’s Alexander McKay Elementary School. Radke led the workshop with the young students repurposing disposable plastic bottles and other packaging materials to create new crafted objects coated with transformative fluorescent paints floating in space. #responsivehfx @downtownhalifax #downtownhfx #halifaxnoise #lightart #projections #installationar t#videoart @nscaduniversity @visualartsns @dalhousieartgallery Anna Leonowens Gallery @artgallerynovascotia #agns #newmediaart @marekradke @sjam #stjosephalexandermckayelementryschool
