We are looking for staff who are committed to ensuring the dignity of residents, promote a resident's ability to make choices about his or her daily life and care, and treasure the role of older adults in our society. ... Positions Available Licensed Practical Nurse Under the direction of the RN Team Lead and in collaboration as a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide care to complex but stable residents. You will operate to full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia, and according to Rest haven lodge operating policies and standards. Typical duties include: plan interventions, perform assessments, administer medications and participate in the multidisciplinary care planning meetings and family conferences. Registered Nurse / Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Team Lead Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator, the Registered Nurse (RN / RPN) is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery of holistic care and services to residents. As a member of the care team, the RN / RPN collaborates with the healthcare team in order to meet the individual needs of residents. In addition, the RN / RPN acts as a leader and mentor to LPNs and Nursing Assistants (NAs) by motivating and empowering the team, ensures excellence in the completion of nursing assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of care. The RN / RPN works cohesively with other team members to ensure that the changing needs of residents are addressed, acts as an advocate, facilitator and change agent. Responsibilities; Developing, planning, facilitating and evaluating therapeutic social programs that enhance the quality of life for residents in our complex care setting. Responsibilities include developing individual care plans in collaboration with family and multidisciplinary teams to m...eet social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural needs & interests. Experience in developing programs for persons with dementia giving them a sense of dignity and self-respect. Responsible for administrative duties, policy development, and delegates to Activity Assistants that facilitate programs. Works with Volunteer Coordinator in matching volunteers to appropriate care. Develops monthly Newsletters in collaboration with Nursing and Volunteer Coordinator. Performs responsibilities in accordance with facility standards, policies & procedures and models a culture of safety at all times. B. Skills and Abilities Ability to plan and deliver individual and group activities with persons with dementia Ability to deal effectively with individuals with responsive behaviors Ability to utilize community resources effectively and develop positive working relationships with community resources, families and other service providers.
