Restigouche Snowmobile Club 12.02.2021

Thursday is Wing Day! Who's hungry?? COVID rules are in place as usual and we still don't have our cash machine so its cash only. Also, we will have a display set up with our RSC clothing if you want to do some shopping. And if we don't have the size or style you want, we can order it for you. And masks are going to be a part of our wardrobe for the next little bit, so why not have a styling new mask with the RSC logo on it??? We have some available now.

Groomer Report Well I took the Groomer out this morning and had a Error code pop up. I contacted the Dealer and we found out the issue. Parts are ordere...d and a company from Moncton will be coming up to do the repair. Parts will be in Monday or Tuesday next week. As I said yesterday this trip was to get the Kinks out and hopefully this will be it. Other than that all the modification to the Drag worked great and the Groomer other than the issue worked great and is ready to go. We still don’t have enough snow to open most of our trails other than the rail bed so were not really loosing any time. Hopefully well get some snow this weekend and no rain, and groomer should be ready by mid next week. If we get a good amount of snow it should only take a few days and well get all the trails opened up.. Thanks. See more

We have had serious issues with our groomer for the past few years; many expensive breakdowns and lost grooming hours.... Now, we have some exciting news to announce today.... our new groomer arrived today, it is a 2017 Prinoth Husky. There was a tremendous amount of work that went into securing this groomer for us and we wish to thank the people who worked many hard long hours to make this happen. So here it is...

Would you like to volunteer with our Club putting up signs this winter? We would like to do an Adopt A Trail approach to signing this coming season. We have decided to divide up our trails amongst some willing volunteers and that volunteer(or group of volunteers) would be responsible for proper signage on that trail. The following trails are up for grabs: #17 heading west from the beginning in Campbellton over to Le Pause. This includes the section going through town and S...ugarloaf Park. - this trail is claimed #232 where it starts at Le Pause through to the end by Pro Nature. - this trail is claimed #235 in Tide Head - this trail is claimed. #239 in Tide Head - this trail is claimed. #237 and # 238 which are Manns Mountain and Flatlands Trails. - these 2 trails are claimed. #236, the 7 Mile portion #236, the Squaw Cap portion plus # 233, which is Prickett's Road trail. We are limited to sending 2 people to the official trail signing course this year and we need volunteers for that as well.

The PSS at the Junction of Trail #17 and Trail # 232 aka Le Pause was replaced today. Just need the signs to make it complete. What a hard time digging through all those rocks! A great installation job done by Postech Restigouche, a new local company in our area!

Look at the beginning of the beautiful fall colors! Spent the afternoon out collecting old signs that are no longer in use. Great day to be spent out in the woods, almost as nice as when the woods are coated in that beautiful White Gold! 91 days and 8 hours to the official start to the season, incase you were counting down too.

Thank you to the Restigouche ATV Club for allowing us to help do some trail repairs today. Working together on trail projects is such a big help to both Clubs. We certainly didn't have to worry about dust on the way home after all that rain that fell while we were fixing the holes.

NBFSC President’s Message May, 2020 Fellow Snowmobilers & Stakeholders,... As the 15th President of the NBFSC, I am pleased to lead and navigate our team through these unprecedented times. We, the board understand and respect the tireless efforts of being a Volunteer Organisation. Those that clear trails, groom trails, sit on club boards etc. are who make this all possible. We also ask that all member clubs and snowmobilers adhere to forthcoming guidelines or recommendations (if any) pertaining to the recovery from COVID-19. These challenges ahead will be met with success as we team together. Snowmobiling is an economic stimulus to many businesses and communities. According to the Canadian Outdoor Recreational Round Table in a letter dated April 24, 2020 it was pronounced, The collective outdoor recreational industry is conservatively estimated to produce $24.6 billion in economic activity for Canada each year generating an estimated 472,713 direct jobs, $7.1 billion in taxes & $52.1 billion in total revenues. So where do we fit in? The NBFSC delivered. Past President Scott Ralston achieved his goal: 2019 Snowmobile Economic Impact Study (available on our website) The verifiable results states there is an annual $90.5 million worth of economic and volunteer value in New Brunswick from snowmobiling. We, the NBFSC will continue to work with and lobby governments at all levels on behalf of our permit holders and stakeholders in our industry. We are very fortunate to have access to public (crown) lands and must respect the privilege of crossing privately held property and our privileged access to industrial freehold lands in New Brunswick as well. We are a healthy alternative for winter activities while promoting social interaction, family fun and stress relief. I welcome all readers of this message to come to New Brunswick and ride over 8000 kilometers of managed trails and experience our exceptional trail signage while enjoying our Province’s hospitality and Tourism. Stay safe, Dave Garland, NBFSC President

A message from the NEW President of the NBFSC during Volunteer Week: We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for all the time given by our Member Clubs, their Presidents and the multiple volunteers in each Club who strive to provide snowmobile trails in their community every winter season. All together we form the NBFSC province wide. Our season ended early in 2020 in support of our Province our communities, our neighbors and our future. ... However, we know your work and contributions to create snowmobile trails did not end in March and does not end in the summer so as we start to look forward to 2021 as a new group we wanted to thank you for all of the time, energy and effort you put into the NBFSC. Dave Garland President, NBFSC On behalf of the 2021 Executive, Staff and Board of Directors.
