Fear of Flying or Aviophobia is very real, and it adversely affects a large percentage of the population. More than one-third of all people experience some form of fear or anxiety when it comes to flying. While it is based on irrational triggers, aviophobia is still a real nuisance for many and negatively impacts their personal lives and careers. COVID and the potential of being exposed to the virus on a plane increases anxiety even further. So if you have to fly at these times, and you are someone who becomes anxious about the experience then this audio- recording is for you Download it here: https://www.resultstherapy.ca/12-days-of-christmas-giveaway

From Christmas feasts to late night partying, the festive season is all about eating and drinking and we all know how hard it can be hard to resist another mince pie or glass of fizz! While most of us aware of how it impacts on the waistline, many don’t realise the effects it has on the quality of our sleep. Don’t worry I’m not expecting you to abstain from alcohol and desserts but it might be helpful to know a few good tips so you continue to sleep well over the Christma...s break. Alcohol may help you fall asleep initially, but will interrupt your sleep later on in the night. It prevents you for getting deep restful sleep plus you will find yourself waking in the night dehydrated and needing the loo. It is difficult in the party period but try to swap to water a couple of hours before bedtime. It may seem tempting to pile your plate with food but indulging in large meals can make it harder for your body to digest, which means you may have trouble getting to sleep later on. Where possible, eat a heavy meal at least three to four hours before bedtime to avoid indigestion and heartburn. How Hypnosis can help with sleeping Hypnosis can help many forms of sleep issues and insomnia. It uses different approaches to induce relaxation, such as focused attention, symptom control and guided imagery. And, unlike sleep medications, it has no side effects, so it can be an aid for those who can’t or don’t want to take sleeping pills. It can help overcome bedtime restlessness ease the worry, tension and anxiety that prevent sleep and can show the way to the deep, restorative sleep that we all need. Lets try The Backward Spin One of the consistent things about anxiety and fear is that it’s a physical feeling in the body. It’s always moving, and usually it’s moving too fast. Think of the last time you got startled. You might remember the feeling starting somewhere in your body . It moves up (or down) and finally out as the fear passes through you.... But with anxiety, the fear moves up or down, but it doesn’t move out. It keeps circulating through the body. This is why we say that fear has a spin. This particular and simple technique is a way to interrupt that cycle. It comes from Richard Bandler, the co-creatorbof Neuro-Linguistic- Programming (NLP) and can be used for many different uncomfortable emotional states and is a great technique for kids too. I absolutely love this TedXBend talk by Patti Dobrowolski. Everyone has a goal, but many people find it difficult to start, persist and remain focused long enough to achieve what they desire. This very process of visualization is used in hypnotherapy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTZjAk6yqfY
