Thank you to the AMAZING Micheal Garron Hospital staff for taking such good care of the RSBL staff during our visit for our Covid Vaccinations. Micheal Garron even sent a TTC bus which picked us up at our front door and brought us back again. The process was friendly, easy and fast. 2020 has been k i c k e d to the curb, and 2021 has already replaced fear with hope.

Wishing everyone the very best in 2021. As we all look to a quiet and virtual New Year's celebration, I wanted to remind everyone about the light/sound show on the CN Tower. Tune in live on the @cityoftoronto’s YouTube channel as the #CNTower celebrates New Year’s Eve with an extraordinary celebration in light and sound, beginning at 11:59 p.m. December 31, 2020. Featuring a musical track that will be simulcast on Jamar's House Party live on @Chum1045, all of Toronto can tun...e in and look up, and all Canadians can watch from home and dance along to the show. It'll start just before midnight, and will be accompanied by a live musical simulcast of Jamar's House Party on CHUM 104.5, hosted by Jamar McNeil. Annual festivities that normally take place for free at Nathan Phillips Square have been cancelled this year. The light display will be streamed on the city's YouTube channel for distanced viewing. 1300 LED lights on the CN Tower can produce over 16 million colours. If you don't have a view of the CN Tower from nearby, don't flock to the area to view the lights, as we're still avoiding large gatherings in Toronto under lockdown. "We just need people to stay home. The case numbers are not good. That is putting huge strain on the healthcare system and it is not good for overall public health and for getting this pandemic over with, so the rules stay the same," Mayor John Tory told CP24. "Please stay home, please celebrate the New Year at home. The new year is bound to be better than the one we're just finishing up, so there's cause for celebration, but please stay home."

Acts of Kindness and genuine care are so appreciated at anytime, but especially during the holidays when we are unable to give the ones we love a big HUG. Thank you so very much to a lovely young student who made these cards for all of our residents. We are grateful you though of us, and your amazing gift of Kindness made all the difference to our residents. T H A N K Y O U

True Heroes live at Retirement Suites By The Lake. We need to say Thank you everyday..... here is a photo of one of our residents who was 5 years old at the time. This photo was taken in 1947 in Larg, Scotland. MM's father was a gunner in the Royal Artillery, he fought for freedom for all of us in France, Belgium and Holland. Thank you so much MM for sharing this beautiful photo of bravery, love and sacrifice, it is an honour to have you part of our family here at RSBL. You truly have a place in History; you were loved by a hero and the reason he celebrated coming home after the War. With Respect to all the Fathers who had to let go of their little girl's hands and go to War, we Thank you.

We had so much fun with our Funny Face Mask contest. Have a look at the artistic ability (sense of humour) here at RSBL.
