Thanks to For Dee's B's for sharing more of your story why you run, We are walking/running in support of our really good friend, Sarah Zuke, nee Dee, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in June. Sarah is in her thirties and has no family history of breast cancer. She noticed something wrong and advocated for herself, which is a message she wants all women to know -the importance of knowing your body and speaking up for yourself. Dee’s Bs will be joining teams across Ontario in support of Sarah - she has an army behind her! We are so proud of her continued fight, honesty, vulnerability, and strength. We hope she knows how inspirational she has been and that even during the times when she feels like her strength is waning and her hope is dwindling, that we are there to lift her up!

Being physically apart didn’t stop us from coming together. Thank you, Location, for your continued support. We hope you enjoyed the re-imagined #CIBCRunfortheCure today! This year we welcomed 62 dedicated participants in Chatham Kent and surrounding area who helped us raise $19,500for the CIBC Run for the Cure. Congratulations! With your help, we raised an impressive $8,010,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society from coast-to-coast. CCS invests these dollars into ground breaking breast cancer research, compassionate support services, trusted cancer information and advocacy on behalf of all Canadians. We hope to see all of you at next year’s event on Sunday, October 3.

Congratulations to Karen V for your fundraising success and winning the Determination Awards for top fundraisers by raising $1494. When asking Karen, Why do I run? Well - actually, I walk - but I’ve been participating in the local Chatham Kent event since I was diagnosed with DCIS in 2007 - some of these years, I’ve been on the organizing committee. Aside from myself, my Oma, several aunts, neighbours and colleagues are breast cancer survivors. . I’ve also lost a close friend to breast cancer. My thoughts are summed up in Melissa Etheridge’s song: I run for Life Photo: Karen in the middle. P

CONGRATULATIONS Meredith R for receiving one of our Determination Awards by raising $1314! Meredith shared her reason why she runs. My name is Meredith. I have participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure, in support of cancer research, in years past. I ran to support my family and friends, and everyone else who have been affected by breast cancer. The cause was always close to home for me, but not quite as close as it is now. In June, my beautiful and amazing Mom, Wendi, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has weathered through this storm, with the support of her rock solid army of family and friends. This year I am running on October 4th, in honour of my brave and fearless Mom.
