The RHLI joined the City of Hamilton in marking Remembrance Day with a small socially distanced ceremony honouring the men and women who have served our country. Maj Nick Arakgi, deputy commanding officer, represented the Regiment at the ceremony in Gore Park and while all the Rileys could not be present, we all took a moment to remember those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom. The soldiers of B and D Companies, RHLI, were at John Foote Armoury this weekend to hone their weapons skills and basic tactics. The day-long training event was to meet their Individual Battle Task Standards (IBTS), ensuring all Canadian Army soldiers are ready to meet all challenges, both at home and abroad. The Royal Hamilton Light Infantry (Wentworth Regiment) welcomed its new Regimental Sergeant Major this week, CWO Gerry Fraser accepted the appointment from LCol Alex Colic at John Foote Armoury in Hamilton. He replaces CWO Mark Brewster. We would thank CWO Brewster for his excellent leadership during his time as RSM.
