Can stress affect your heart? Every cell in your body responds to your emotions which are always responding to your thoughts. Which means that when you are happ...y, your cells respond positively. It also means when you are upset or stressed out, your cells are responding accordingly. Stress in your life can have an impact on your heart in many ways including the unhealthy behaviors and habits that stress can cause you to take on. By managing chronic and acute stress you can give your body, mind and heart some rest and feel more ease, peace, and enjoyment in your life. Here is a really great breathing exercise you can do daily, even multiple times a day to help relax and balance your body, and lower your stress levels. Alternate Nostril Breathing: -This technique helps to balance physical, mental and emotional well-being. Sit in a comfortable position with your legs crossed. Place your left hand on your left knee. Lift your right hand up toward your nose. Exhale completely and then use your right thumb to close your right nostril. Inhale through your left nostril and then close the left nostril with your fingers. Open the right nostril and exhale through this side. Inhale through the right nostril and then close this nostril. Open the left nostril and exhale through the left side. This is one cycle. Continue for up to 5 minutes.
