The Grade 5 students were very fortunate to have interviewed Shad, a Juno award winning Canadian rapper. Students used their knowledge and insights from the unit of inquiry and social justice to ask Shad questions in an effort to "go further" along our inquiry cycle and enrich their understandings of racism and social justice. They did a marvelous job!

Let's do a SCREEN-FREE CHALLENGE!! Pick one or two days over the weekend for your family and limit all technology and screen time (no phones, no iPad, no computer, no TV) and promote physical movement, reading books, playing board games, exploring the natural world, creating artwork etc. Feel free to send us photo and reflections of your experience!

The Grade 5's second unit of inquiry into Indigenous Communities is underway! Students are highly curious and enthusiastic about inquiring into the various Indigenous Nations that enrich and strengthen our country. A big thank you to James in Grade 5 for gifting each classmate with sticker drawings of animals created by Indigenous artists!
