Chag Hanukkah Sameach! Tonight, the Jewish community across Canada and Jews around the world will begin celebrating Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. Every yea...r, this celebration brings families and communities together. This year’s celebrations will look very different because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We must all remain vigilant and celebrate responsibly this holiday season. As we commemorate the historic triumph of the Jewish people over their oppressors, we must also remember that anti-Semitism continues to rise, both around the world and even more disturbingly here in Canada. Our party will continue to use our voice to stand with our Jewish friends in Canada and around the world. In lighting the menorah tonight, may the story of Hanukkah remind us all once again that light always conquers darkness, good prevails over evil, and, like the lights of the menorah, hope can never die. On behalf of our entire Conservative caucus, Rebecca, and me, please accept our best wishes for a happy and safe Hanukkah!

Canadians need to see a real plan for vaccines. So far, we know that the U.S., U.K., the entirety of the European Union, Brazil, Mexico, India and Indonesia are ahead of us in line. We need to know when the Trudeau government will approve, receive and distribute vaccines.
