THIS is a reminder of what can happen when the snow falls, the roads are icy, and the visibility is poor-- like it is RIGHT NOW! If you have to go out today, remember to drive defensively, because so many others won't be! The best way to avoid being part of something like this is to drive SLOW in the SNOW. It may take you a little more time to get where you're going, but it's worth it to get to your destination alive and safe.

Police need the public's help, they could use any tips or information you may have. There are at least three parks-- where your children play-- a short walking distance from this location. If you know something, say something, and help keep all of us safe.

* HOW TO SPOT A FAKE DRIVER'S LICENSE * This is a screenshot of a scammer's actual request for payment from the Pomsky Puppy Scam we mentioned earlier this week. The photo of a driver's license they sent, to, in their words, "build trust" is easily found elsewhere on the internet, amazingly to promote companies who manufacture "novelty" fake I.D.'s. There are several glarring "red-flags" in this particular "driver's license" which show it to be fraudulent without even physi...cally touching it. Once you know the key details to look for, you can help protect yourselves from those who wish to fool and cheat you. Here are three errors in this so-called "trust" document: 1. The Date of Issue & Expiry - An Ontario Driver's License is issued for up to 5 years, but can be renewed sooner than that. It expires 5 years after issue. In this fake, the Issue Date is 2017, and the Expire Date is the same day in 2023. That's 6 years. An authentic D.L. would say 2022 in this case. 2. First Digit of the D.L. Number - It is always a letter of the alphabet, and it MUST correspond to the first letter of the surname indicated. In this fake, the D.L. Number starts with "L". If this were an authentic D.L., it would start with "C" as the indicated surname is "Church". 3. Last Six Digits of D.L. Number - The 9th and 10th number (separated by a dash) MUST correspond to the last two numbers of the person’s indicated year of birth. The last 4 digits of the D.L. Number MUST correspond to the person’s indicated month and day of birth. In this fake, the D.L. Number ends with "0-70296". If this were an authentic D.L., it would end with "7-50609"to match the Date of Birth of "1975/06/09". And now you know the basics of what to look for. In fact, take out your own driver's license and see if your own details match up on the document. If it's legitimate, it probably will. But, a fake is a fake, so stay safe, and be smarter than the fraudsters and the scammers!
