Happy Canada Day 2020! "Cynical" is a new original by TRAINWRECK, recorded during the covid-19 pandemic for Canada's 153rd, while also acknowledging our long pre-colonial history on Turtle Island. The lyrics are inspired by Jack Layton's final words: "Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair." Friends, I hope our paths cross in 2020 as I wind my way through a 25th year of creating and touring theatre. I just left our Jungle Book tour to start an Off-Broadway run of BOOM @ 59E59 Theaters. In the next few months, it's BOOM in Canada and Taiwan, BOOM X in France and Quebec City, while Craig Francis and I continue developing BOOM YZ (Part 3) and Frankenstein.
