#OnThisDay 35 Years ago, Rick Hansen and his team were getting ready to celebrate their first Christmas on the Man In Motion World Tour. We recently dug up one of Rick's handwritten notes to himself he prepared for a Christmas call with the HQ team in 1985. "We are all one team". This sentiment is still true to the Rick Hansen Foundation today, 35 years later!

A message from our Founder, Rick Hansen on #RemembranceDay: Today, I remember our veterans with gratitude. They sacrificed everything to serve our country and fight for our freedom. For many veterans, their most important work continued off the battlefield. Upon returning home, many veterans with a disability struggled to be accepted, and found themselves confronted by barriers in their new circumstances. Human rights for people with disabilities were advanced because veter...ans with a disability refused to accept their limitations.. I will forever be grateful to the veterans who helped start the Paralympic movement. Their courage and demonstration of ability gave me hope as an athlete and a human being. They fought for respect and equality so that we could all live in a healthy and inclusive world where no one gets left behind. How are you honouring our veterans today?
